chapter five. you fool

"I'm so tired, I think I'm already asleep," Dalton says as he links his arm with Ellie's. "Youre not funny," she says laughing. "And yet you keep laughing," he responds with a smile. "Cause her humor is dead," Jenny speaks up. The group were at the sophomore sleepover to chaperone.

"Coconut water?" Ellie asks holding her bottle of water to Alice. "Leave me alone," Alice says as she walks away as Ellie hands the bottle to Jenny. "What'd you do to Alice?" Ellie asks looking at Kyle. "Why do you always assume I did something? You know what? Fuck you, Ellie," Kyle says as Nick and Jenny laugh.

"You did something, right?" Ellie asks with a smile. "Yeah," Kyle responds. "He kissed Abbey during spin the bottle after you left," Nick explains. "You fool," Ellie says with a laugh.

"Yeah, when it lands on you, you say 'I have mouth sores' or something but you don't kiss another girl in front of your girlfriend especially not your ex," Jenny explains. "Aw, leave the poor guy alone. He's too stupid to know all this," Nick says throwing his arm over Kyle's shoulders.

"Look, it's Ginny. I have to go say hi," Ellie says moving away from Dalton. "No, you want to go. Like you want to shag her mom," Dalton says as Ellie hits his chest. "Fuck you," she says with a laugh. "Don't listen to them," Nick says pulling the girl close.

"Fuck who you want, El," he says as she smiles. "You know what, I will," Ellie says as he kisses her head before she walks away.

"Oh, what did they do to your hair?" Ellie asks as she follows Ginny into the bathroom. "I don't know. Help me fix it?" Ginny asks as Ellie nods. "I'm good with hair. I use to do Alice's when we were tiny," Ellie says moving the messed up hair up into a bun as she ties it with her hair tie.

"Thanks," Ginny says as Ellie nods. "So where's your little boyfriend? Is it Hunter or Marcus?" Ellie questions. "Oh my god! Youre worse than my mom," Ginny says as Ellie laughs.

"Don't say that. Youre mom's great," Ellie says as Georgia walks in. "Tell her," she says as Ginny scoffs before walking away. "Did you fix her hair?" Georgia asks as Ellie nods. "Wow, you sure know alot," Georgia explains. "I know nothing about what really matters," Ellie responds.

"What's that?" Georgia asks as Ellie sits down on the floor of the showers. "You know," Ellie says as Georgia sits down next to her. "I don't," Georgia says as Ellie moves closer. "You do. Please tell me you do or else I will lose my-" Ellie says before Georgia cuts her off.

"Maybe I do know," Georgia says as Ellie smiles. "I'm glad," she says before someone walks in causing the two to move away. "Ellie!" Alice calls as Ellie hurries to her feet. "I'm here babe," she says rushing to her friend's side who was crying.

"Oh no, what's wrong?" Georgia asks looking at the two girls. "It's just Kyle. I think we need a moment," Ellie says rubbing her friend's back. "Okay, I'll be at the party if you girls need anything," Georgia says as Ellie nods before the older woman leaves the bathroom while Ellie comforts her friend. "He's such a piece of shit," she says between sobs as Ellie nods. "I know sweetie," she responds.
