Izuku Age 4

"I'm sorry to say this, Ms. Midoriya, but your son is quirkless." 'What? What do you mean quirkless? Aren't I supposed to have an amazing quirk and be a hero with Kacchan? I felt a tear stream down my cheek, and then another; soon a torrent of tears made their way down my face. "He has an extra joint in the pinky on his left foot," the doctor continued. "I'll leave you two to talk alone." The doctor left the room and closed the sliding door. "M-mommy? Is t--th-that true?" I asked, knowing what the answer would be. She looked down towards me with a sad expression on her face. "It's okay, Izu, you don't need to have a quirk to be a hero. As long as you continue to push forward, then you can be whoever you want," she replied while hugging me. The embrace felt comforting, momentarily making me forget about the devastating news. Mommy's hugs always make me feel better. After a few minutes, we both got out of the hug and looked at each other. I gave her a weak smile as she smiled back. "It's going to be alright. I'll always be here for you, and if anyone tells you can't be a hero, then they're wrong," she spoke with confidence. My smile turned brighter as she picked me up and walked over to the door. I'm happy that my mom still believes in me. No matter what, I'm going to be a hero. I won't give up!

The doctor was in the hallway, waiting for us. He nodded at my mom and gave her a few papers. I'm not sure what they're for, though. As the both of us exited the hospital, she looked down at me, starting to say something. "Would you like to get some ice cream? We can stop by your favorite ice cream place on the way home," she said. I started nodding my head vigorously. At that moment, I thought everything would be okay. But little did I know, it surely wouldn't.

"Izuku! Look at my quirk!" Kacchan started making tiny explosions out of his hands. "The doc said my sweat is explosive! I'm going to be the number one hero with this amazing quirk!" he continued. I looked at him in awe. Not only that, but I started theorizing what Kacchan could do with his quirk. "That's so cool! You'll be the number one hero in the entire world!" I responded enthusiastically. Kacchan and I have the same birthday, so we found out at the same time. "What's your quirk? I'm sure it's cool, but it won't be as cool as mine!" he asked. I felt a bead of sweat go down my face. Here's to hoping he will still be my friend. "I... I don't have a quirk," I responded. Kacchan stared at me with a dumbfounded face. Let's hope it's not a bad sign. A few seconds later, he pushed the me away, making me fall to the ground. "Get away from me, you quirkless idiot. You're so useless, you didn't even get a quirk. Heh! That's what I'll call you now; Deku! Just because you're so useless!" He paused for a moment as he started walking away. Tears started to flow down my face. My best friend left me. Just because I'm quirkless, he left me.

I laid there for a few minutes, not believing what happened. The only thing to get me out of this trance was the sharp ringing of the school bell that notified me recess was over. I quickly rubbed my eyes to get any existing tears off my face. I began to walk to the class, limping a bit because of how hard Kacchan pushed me. When I entered the door, people looked at me and started whispering. One of Kacchan's other friends started to speak, "There he is! The quirkless Deku!" Everyone started laughing; even the teacher. I flinched a bit at them calling me "he". Tears flew down my face, onto the carpet below. The teacher only said for everyone to quiet down. At that moment, I knew that my life would start being a living hell.

When I exited the school, Kacchan and three other people surrounded me. "Now what do we have here?" one of them asked; it was a rhetorical question. I started speaking, but was soon shut down. " Shut up! You don't deserve to speak, you quirkless Deku!" Kacchan yelled. Immediately after, I felt a hardened punch to my gut, one of the other kids had a hardening quirk. It was a really cool quirk that could make their skin into crystals, by will. I doubled over as another one of Kacchan's "underlings" punched me in the face. I fell as they started kicking me. Again and again and again. It hurt so much. I began looking around to see if anyone would help me. I looked at a teacher as she stared at me. Furthermore, I couldn't speak, so I looked at her and mouthed, 'Help me.' She turned her head and walked away. I began to cry, knowing that no one would save me.
