Phoenix never dies...except when she does

I stepped into the alleyway, and all of my confidence melted when I saw who my opponent was. The universe must really hate me since this happened. My opponent was none other than Shock.

"For our 4th fight of the night, we have our fan favorite, Shock going up against a rookie called Phoenix!" The announcer said in his horrible, telemarketing voice.

"And as a request from Shock herself, the rounds will be 10 minutes long, pretty much double the usual!"

I froze. I expected the usual three minute rounds, but ten!?! She must be trying to kill me. I was sure of it. I also noticed one of Shock's goons roughly dragging my friends to watch. They had silver cuffs on their hands, and I assumed they must restrict their abilities like they did to Nia. I was on my own.

They are going to kill you in front of us, hoping to trigger more powers.

A voice said inside my head. Nia? I asked

Yes, Boulder broke the restrictor when you left and Mindware taught me how to broadcast my thoughts into yours.

That's great, but I'm going down without a fight. I said

That's great spirit Kaz-

Nope, it's Phoenix now. You gotta admit, if this wasn't life or death and what we originally thought it was, this would be a dream come true, so I'm kinda happy.

You always interrupted me. Even when we first met. Nia broadcasted weakly.

Nia-

Nope, it's Phenomina.

Huh? I asked in confusion.

Once you left, they asked me for my name, because I am going next. I said Phenomina because Melody said it was a great phenominon when I became a potentia. 

Nice. Annoying Naomi 'till the end. I said

Can you tell the others that even though I h. probably won't survive this, keep pushing on. Try to act like you didn't get another power, and don't worry. I will probably become a phantom. Maybe I'll even watch over you guys. I love you all.

EW YOU WHAT?!?

NAOMI? I asked

Yep, we're all here Kaz.

JACKSON?

Mr. Green is connecting all of our minds. Boulder said

As my dying wish, what is your name Boulder? Your real one. I think Nia deserves to know. Also, Naomi. Once I'm gone, it's your job to make fun of Nia and Boulder from now on.

Yeah, I got that Kaz. Naomi grinned

NIA AND LUCIFER SITTING IN A TREE-

NAOMI Nia screamed

They all laughed. I had to try extremely hard not to laugh in front of Shock, and was about to join in when Jackson mentally shouted

KAZ WATCH OUT!

I was pulled out of my daze and saw Shock charging towards me. I quickly rolled out of the way and blasted fire out of my left hand, my right whipping in Shock's direction. I must've missed because lightning was shot through my flames and at me. Caught off guard, it hit my left arm as I tried to leap away. Shock came out of the flames, desperately trying to extinguish her clothes. So fire does damage to her.

My celebration was short lived. Shock gave up on trying to electrocute me. The woman charged me with her sword. I slashed my whip towards her face, haoping for her to flinch. Well, it kinda worked. When my whip hit her, it slashed her left eye pretty badly, but she didn't stop. She charged right into me, wildly swinging her sword. Thankfully she didn't hit me, probably because her eye is bloody, but the blow knocked me back and I hit the fence, dropping my whip. Shock was getting up and I needed a plan fast. I morphed my fire into some sort of lasso and I tried to use it to grab my whip. Sadly, Shock realised what I was trying to do and she used her sword to flick the whip over the fence. She was about to shoot lightning at me when a buzzer sounded. Shock cursed under her breath.
