Yeah, I passed out. I had another vision. It is a bit unnerving.

Well, we need to get out of here as soon as possible. Heather accidentally removed the shadowpotentia. He was teasing her and she lashed out, saying he should leave and never come back.

I didn't actually see him die, he just walked away and didn't come back to training the next day. Yeah, she will be killed. The shadowpotentia was extremely powerful, the Destroyers won't give him up easily.

Drawing myself back to reality, Donavan and Core both hadn't said anything. They were just, staring at each other. "Tell us the whole story Core." I said threateningly. 

"It is only for his ears." She replied.

"I want Kaz here." Donavan said.

Core sighed. "Your father was part of the Destroyers. We were going to raise you in secret, but Shock found out. We ran to Merge for help. He offered us a place to stay, but the Destroyers found us. They killed your father and captured Merge. I fled with you to a small town in Virginia, where you grew up. Upon arriving, I discovered I had developed Merge's power. I shape shifter into the person you saw growing up. I changed my name and identity. You know I was a telepotentia, and your father was a firepotentia. That's why I know so much about the topic. I prayed you never developed a power, but you had a temper. I knew it wasn't your fault, all metalpotentias have a temper. But I knew if you developed one, they would take you from me."

She paused to catch her breath and wipe the tears from her cheeks.

"One day, I was at the park with you, and you went down a metal slide. You slid down, but another kid came too fast behind you and he crashed into you. You were so angry, and you used the slide to slice his back. He cried in pain and I grabbed you and stayed at a motel for several weeks. I was searching around my room for my wallet. I asked the front desk if they had seen it, and they said there was a wallet returned. I took you and went down, the guy at the front desk grabbed me and shoved me into a back room. I thought it was the Destroyers, but it was the Preservers. They saw what happened at the slide. They asked me to enlist. At first I said no, but they said they had seen my brother. Reluctantly, I agreed. They offered me shelter and safety. I lived in the tundra for a few years before I was moved back to Virginia. They hoped they could use me as bait and catch some Destroyers. We waited many years. That day they took you, Shock electrocuted me. I was out for 4 days, not breathing. Being an potentia, I could survive it. A neighbor finally called 911, and they started my breathing. The policed searched long and hard for you, and they actually caught one of the Destroyers. But they were an invisiperium, and they snuck out. I moved in permanently with the Preservers. Eventually, the Destroyers caught me, but I shape shifted and agreed to work for them. The Preservers made me a double agent, and I have been spying on them ever since." Core's voice cracked. 

"I tried, so hard to enchant something to remove your power. But no object would permanently be there. I even tried enchanting you. As a person. It never worked. I know this is bad, but everything I did, I did out of love. Sometimes, people make dumb choices, but for the right reasons." Core stared at the both of us. "All I ask, if for you forgiveness."Donavan was in shock. 

"All I want to know, is why you didn't tell me sooner."

"You are amazing, Donavan. You are everything I wished for you to be. If you knew you were being betrayed, I feared you would lash out again and reveal me. Please, my son. I love you, so, so much. I hope you realize that."

"I need to think." Steel replied.

"Thank you for telling us." I said

And we that, we were teleported back to the alley way.
