I open my eyes to a dark room. I look around to see a steel cage. The only thing inside of it is sand. I go into the cage to see a heart drawn in the sand. I stare at it for a minute until a hear a loud bang and a click of a lock. I flip around to see Lex Luthor walking away and the cage closed and locked with me trapped inside.

I wake up to Lena worried on my side.

"Are you ok?" She says panicked, "You were breathing very light, I was worried."

"I am fine."

"What did you dream?" Lena asks.

"There was this cage in a dimly lit room. I entered the cage to find a heart etched in the sand. But then Lex locked me inside the cage, and I woke up." I stand up quickly. "Where is everyone?"

"Kelly and Alex went to go see Esme, J'onn gave up, and Kara and Brainy left about 45 minutes ago."

"Am I keeping you? You don't have to stay."

"No, it's fine actually, I didn't want to go home anyways, I have a lot to think on." Lena and I both walk over to the balcony. I lean against the parapet and look up towards Naltor.

"I could've helped sooner with my earlier dream. The cloth must have stood for like chloroform. I am really sorry." I look at Lena, who must be devastated.

"Nia, I was the last person she spoke to before she was kidnapped. It isn't your fault, you couldn't interpret it. I can barely decode my mother's old spell book to help find my own daughter."

"How do you feel about it? The whole daughter thing?"

"When I was told I was a witch, I wanted so badly for it to have a scientific meaning behind it. But it didn't. Marie is 18 physically but mentally only 4? That isn't science."

"I understand. But have you come to terms with it?"

"I don't think I ever will. I have never really thought about being a mom. I haven't really had a good role model with Lillian and all, I just don't think I'd be that good. I see Alex and Kelly with Esme, and I just don't think I could be that good."

"Lena," I look at her, "You would make a wonderful mother, you are a amazing mother. Look at the lengths you have gone already just to find Marie. Look, I know you feel guilty. We all feel guilty, but when it comes down to it, you are that girl's mother, even if she's 5, to 25." I hug Lena.

"Let's go home Nia." Lena says turning around and going to go collect her stuff. I follow her as I go to the bathroom to change quickly out of my Dreamer outfit. I put on a pink floral dress and I collect my hair and put it into a ponytail. I look at myself in the mirror and notice how tired I look. I start to quietly hum "9 to 5," for a minute before Lena knocks on the door. The knock startles me some.

"Yes?"

"Are you ready to go?" Lena asks me. I open the door and rush to the couch to grab my purse. We both go to the elevator and wait for it to go down. "I need to lock up," Lena says as she reaches into her suit pocket and pulls out a set of keys. She picks through them until she finds a key with a T on it. We walk towards the door and I open it for her. I continue walking onto the sidewalk as Lena locks the door. Then Lena clicks a button on her watch, we both walk through it and into my apartment. Brainy is asleep on the couch.

"He is so cute when he sleeps." I say, "Thanks for the portal Lena, and please try to sleep tonight. Remember that this isn't your fault." I set down my purse on the end table and look back at Lena. "Goodnight Lena."

She smiles at me, it is a truly obvious fake smile, but she smiles at me and says,

"Goodnight Nia."

Lena turns around and presses her watch twice. The first touch closes the previous portal and the last touch opens a new one. I am mesmerized as I watch her go through the portal. Then the portal closes. I take off my shoes and go to my bedroom. I don't even bother to change as I pass out on the bed.

When I wake up, I smell bacon or rather burnt bacon. I debate getting out of bed knowing Brainy's cooking skills until I hear Yvette yelling at Brainy.

"Nia!" Yvette yells. I get out of bed and go rushing to the kitchen where Brainy is innocently holding a plate pilled with burnt bacon. "Your fiancé burnt all the bacon. Now, you can handle him. I am going to go out and get some real breakfast." Yvette grabs her shoes, purse and wallet and leaves the apartment.

"I think the stress of it all is getting to me." Brainy says scrapping the plate of bacon into the trash.

"Oh, Brainy. It's not your fault. It is no one's fault but Otis Graves and Lex Luthor."

"My calculation was wrong, they are never wrong. I could've told Lena instead of protecting myself."

"Brainy, no one is perfect. Not even the twelfth-level intellect." I kiss him on the cheek, "Now, I am going to go get dressed and we are going to deliver breakfast to everyone at the tower. " I go back to my room and find a red floral dress and I pair a leather jacket with it. I put on my socks and shoes, and Brainy and I go to find breakfast.
