Everyone is saying that this isn't my fault, but it only confirms how this is seriously all my fault. As Kara and I exit the portal and walk into the chaos that is the giant planet, I shove the guilt into tiny boxes and shove it down. Kara looks disgusted to even be in the Daily Planet who is the direct competition to Catco. I dawn the same disgusted look, even with my past ownership of Catco. We go through the lobby confidently, and get in the elevator. The elevator is completely full of people.
"Where is IT?" Kara asks
"Floor Seven" A lady says behind us. "Thank you," Kara says as she clicks the button labeled with the number seven. We sit in the elevator for about six minutes before it gets to our floor. The elevator opens to a very big room filled with cubicles. We decide to split up to cover more room. She goes left, I go right.
I grab the first person I see and ask him,
"Do you know a Henry Long?"
"Who is that?"
I go person to person, with each person saying that he isn't in yet or that they don't know him. When I'm done questioning my eleventh person, Kara runs up to me, practically dragging a guy along with her.
"You found him?" I ask hopefully.
"Yep," Kara waves her hand toward me, and toward him frantically, "Mr. Long meet Ms. Luthor, Ms. Luthor meet Mr. Long."
"Hello Ms. Luthor. I assume you know about..well...everything."
"Yes, I know." I reaches out her hand but before Mr. Long could shake it, I receive a phone call.
"It's him," I say not wanting to be right. I press the green button and hear his dreadful voice.
"Did ya miss me?"
"Hello. Now let me guess, we have 24 hours left."
"22 hours, and 8 minutes."
"We have Henry Long," I state, "Where you do want to meet?"
"Meet us at Urolith Amnions."
"Got it," I press the end call button. I turn and look at Kara, "Where is Urolith Amnions?"
Kara whips out her phone and calls Brainy. The phone only has to ring once. She puts it on speaker so I can hear.
"Brainy, could you use the DEO algorism to find Urolith Amnions?"
"Well, yes of course," you can hear Brainy aggressively typing in the background, which is brief when he answers, "There is no such thing."
"Wait, this is Lex. It's a code."
"But this is Otis, and I hate to call Otis dumb, but it would have to be a simple code." Kara says, I think about Otis, which leads me down the memories of his sister, Mercy.
"When I was little, Mercy taught me how to unscramble words and to use common sense when unscrambling them. Think about it, Luthor scrambled is Urolith, now we know that is Luthor, we deduct every place without Luthor in the name. That leaves us with the following: Luthor Corp, The Luthor Mansion, Luthor Corp Naval Solutions facility, the Luthor Family Children Hospital both the Luthor foundation and the Lena Luthor Foundation, and the division of Metropolis's Luthor Corp, not to mention any and all of the subsidiaries of Luthor Corp."
"How do we narrow all of that down?"
"It is quite simple honestly. The Luthor Corp Naval Solutions facility, once owned by Cadmus was blown up by Alex. I cleaned the Luthor foundation of all warehouses and everything terrible associated with it in order to keep Lillian's name clear after her death. I wanted it to be a force for actual good, like L-corp. Now, I am sure that the Luthor foundation and by proxy the Lena Foundation is clean too. That leaves us with "Luthor Corp, The Luthor Mansion, the Luthor Family Children's Hospital and the division of Metropolis's Luthor Corp and all other subsidiaries of Luthor Corp."
"So Ms. Luthor, now all we have to do is narrow it down from there," Mr. Long says.
"Correct. Since we are in Metropolis, and we know exactly who runs the division of Luthor Corp here..." I say as Kara's face lights up with joy.
"Sam! We go get to see Sam! I have missed her and Ruby so much." I press the button on my watch, and Kara practically runs through.
