It was official. Shawn Trager was a nurse. All of those hours of studying had paid off. She had been bouncing off the walls since she found out this morning. She hadn't left her seat at the bar since she got back to the clubhouse. The guys had been in church since before she got back and it was moments like these where she wished they had a short meeting. It had been a couple of weeks since Shawn told the club about Kyle and since Jax told what they did to him. Bobby had told Kyle he had a Knucklehead out in the garage. After making him confess about what he did to Shawn, they burned off his tattoo. Which Tig enjoyed a little too much.
"Are you okay?" Kip asked, laughing at the brunette who had been bouncing around in her seat, "Yeah, just got some really exciting news. Your brothers just don't understand the concept of time."
Kip nodded in agreement, "Yeah, just about."
Shawn shot out of her seat as soon as the church doors opened. As usual, Jax was one of the last ones out of the chapel. As soon as she saw Jax, she all but threw herself at him, wrapping her arms around her neck and legs around his waist. Jax stumbled back but placed his hands under her thighs to keep her up around him, "Jesus Christ."
"I passed!" Shawn smiled, a gleam in her eye as she smiled down at him, "I'm a nurse!"
Shawn didn't give him a chance to respond as she slammed her lips against his.
The guys let out whistles at the sight of the two, Tig throwing back a shot in the process, a grim expression on his face.
"What's with the excitement?" Clay asked, causing the two to pull apart. Shawn dropped down off Jax, turning to face the guys, "You are looking at Saint Thomas' newest Pediatric Nurse!"
The guys let out cheers at the news as Tig moved to pull his daughter into a hug, "I'm so proud of you baby."
"Thanks Dad." Shawn smiled, placing a kiss on his cheek. Tig pulled away, placing his hands on either side of her face, stroking his thumbs along her cheeks, "Your mom would be so proud of you, Sweetheart."
"Thanks, Daddy." She whispered. Tig placed a kiss on her forehead as Clay wrapped his arm around her shoulders, "Really proud of you, Sweetheart. You've grown into a beautiful young women, Shawn."
"Thanks, Clay." Shawn smiled.
Hugs and celebratory shots went around for the brunette before she made her way back to her Old Man. Jax pulled her into him, wrapping his arms around her shoulders as she wrapped hers around his waist, looking up at him, "I'm really proud of you. Most Old Ladies just dedicate their lives to their Old Man and the club. But, you stuck with making your own life."
"I love the club," She shrugged, "And I love you. But I needed to do something other than just sit around and look pretty."
Jax let out a laugh at her words, placing a kiss on her forehead.
