Paige P.O.V.
I wake up to the smell of breakfast. My parents had a sit down breakfast everyday. We we were the poster family, two parents. Lily and Mark with three perfect children.
I was the oldest but unfortunately not the only. I have an eleven year old sister, Penelope. As well as an eight year old brother, Peyton.
My mom was a stay at home mom and my dad was ceo of an oil company. We were invited to place after place. Time after time. My parents always accepted.
It's hard having two perfectly healthy parents at home, when your two closest friends don't. I know I shouldn't feel guilty, but I do.
"You smell like you've been bathing in the ocean," my mom says chuckling.
Some things take time to adjust to, like bathing in the ocean. Not all things were bad now, just hard.
"Funny, it's probably just my new perfume," I play off.
"We're going to the Grants tonight," my dad announces. Another dinner.
The Grants, we had dinner with them all the time. My parents and the Grants, always pushed for their son and I to be together. No.
"Really? Honey you didn't even ask me," my mom says.
"We'll, Ty and I were talking, we have a idea to discuss," my dad shoots back.
"Fine, your lucky I love you," she says kissing him before sitting down at the table with us.
It always ended with a kiss. No matter how small or how big an argument.

I pick out a dress and some boots to wear. I was expected to look nice. I was always expected to be on my best behavior.I'm the kind of girl, who is the crazy and quirky friend. When we go to these dinners though, I'm sophisticated and well mannered.
I know it's important to my dad but I hate it. I just want to be myself, but that could get me into trouble. No doubt the Grants had their kids act the same way.
The Grants were just like us. Two perfect parents and three perfect children. Thomas was their oldest at seventeen. Tulip was thirteen, and Petunia was ten. Even there names sounded rich.
"Hey mom, can you drop me off at Madelyns on the way home," I ask when I see her walk past my door.
"Yeah, are you going to spend the night?" She asks.
"Yeah, if that's okay?" I ask.
"Yeah, sure," she says walking back to wherever she was going.
To this day it still amazes me that three months ago we were just strangers on a beach. Now we're practically inseparable and literal magical creatures.
It does bother me that I have yet to figure out what I can do. Yet, I know I'll figure it out one day. I just wish today was that one day.
I put my clothes on and do my makeup. My parents wanted my appearance to be phenomenal. That did not just mean my outfit. It meant hair, makeup, and accessories too.
Which is why I also crimp my hair and find some extravagant earrings. With of course a matching necklace and bracelet. My mom was a stickler for matching, if it didn't match she would pick my outfits out for the next week.
I hear my mom frantically say downstairs that she can't find any wine to bring. Which meant they were probably going to have to stop and get some. Another stop on this already horrendous night.
