Chapter 6 :)

Paige P.O.V.

I wake up at Madelyns house, we are meeting the other mermaids today. Taylor spent the night too, she needed some time apart from her sisters.

It's so refreshing not to wake up to a big family breakfast. I'm the first up so I decide to go downstairs and make breakfast.

I go to wash the strawberries and end up on the ground. A huge plump waking up Madelyn and Taylor. They come running down the stairs, but when they see me they bust out laughing.

"This is not funny," I say. This was actually the first time something like this has happened to me. I've been pretty lucky as of yet.

"Would you get over here and help me," I say. Madelyn uses her steam to get me back my legs.

"I got a picture," Taylor admits.

"Of course you did, I was just trying to wash some freaking strawberries," I stay laying on the ground, my side hurt.

"Well, I'll wash the strawberries, you make the eggs," Madelyn says.

"I was thinking about telling my sister," Taylor says.

"Your sisters?" I question because the last I met them, they were brats.

"No, my older sister. She's visiting from college,"

"Oh, we've never told anyone before," Madelyn says.

"Well my sister is one of my best friends, we're really close. I just feel like I'm lying to her,"

"I feel the exact same way with Caleb, I feel so guilty. I know in my not lying, but it hurts just the same," Madelyn adds.

"I'm not telling anyone I know any time soon," Nobody in my life needed to know.

"If you want to tell her, and think she will keep our secret. I don't see the problem," Madelyn says.

"I'll think about it, I really do want to tell her," she says.

I finish the eggs and Madelyn dries the strawberries. How come she could do it without getting wet.

We get ready to meet the girls for lunch. At first I thought it was odd that we were meeting them on land. It's oddly comforting knowing some of them were born on land.

Madelyn drives us to the restaurant, where she has reserved the one private room they have. She goes inside while Taylor and I wait for them.

Muriel walks towards us with some girls behind her. I assume those are the girls we are meeting.

"All of these girls are familiar with land but I still want you to keep an extra close eye on them," Muriel says before adding "they are expected to return in a few hours, before dark,"

"Of course," I say and when she leaves, I lead the girls to the back of the restaurant.

We sit down at the table, and Taylor goes first out of excitement.

"It's so nice to meet you, we have been waiting for this,"

"We are so excited," Madelyn adds.

"Oh, I'm so glad. We are so happy to meet other girls not in our school. This is so exciting," one of the girls says.

"Why don't we introduce ourselves," Taylor says.

"I'm Taylor, I can move objects with my mind and freeze things,"

"I'm Madelyn, I have steam," she chuckles.

"And I'm Paige, I can't do anything yet," I also chuckle at this.
