                                    Chapter 2
That One Night In The Woods

The parking lot is full with all of the students cars. I see Scott, Stiles, and sheriff Stilinski all getting into his cop car. I start to panick, I look over and see Lydia completely and utterly frozen.

      "PSTT," whispers Allison.

My head whips around, I see Stiles keys in her hands. She unlocks the door to his light blue jeep and hops in.

     "Brilliant," I whisper to myself.

     "Come on!" shouts Lydia.

We run to the car, I sit in the passenger seat and Lydia hops in the back. The sheriff starts to pull out of the parking lot. Before we can even put on our seatbelts Allison starts the car and drives after them.

I look around Stiles car. I see his red, white and black lacrosse jersey, number 24. I can smell the scent of him from here. I clip my seatbelt on and jump back as the cold steel metal around the car sends a shiver down my spine.

No more than five minutes pass by and we are outside of the police station, Beacon Hills Sheriff Department.

"Are you ready?" asks Allison. All of our heads turn towards each other. I can see the purple from the cold all over her lips.

As freezing as I am I mumble up the words, "It's now or never."

Allison and I kick open the doors of Stiles car and Lydia climbs out.

    "DUCK," shouts Lydia.

I take cover and whip my head around, my eyes meet Stiles, we stare at each other for a second. I never want to look away. I gasp for air as I feel Lydia's strong grip on my shoulder yank me behind the building.

"Scott and Stiles saw us," says Lydia panting.

"They won't rat us out," says Allison.

"The sheriff's office is right above this window," Lydia says as she points up.

My head looks up to see this large neatly polished window. I see sheriff Stilinski's office. My head turns towards the door as the nod turns. I fling myself back down and turn around. The window is cracked open so we should be able to just hear.

Allison and Lydia sit perked up listening contently. I can only hope that no one is in trouble.

I sit down distracted for a moment. My thoughts get messed up and suddenly I'm back to last night.

                           THE NIGHT BEFORE

Allison, Lydia and I are all sound asleep in our beds until I wake up confused because I hear movement in the bushes. Lydia bursts in my room with Allison and a metal bat.

    "Someone is here," whispers Lydia.

"There's no way, it's the middle of the night," I say.

"SHHH YOU HAVE TO WHISPER," commands Lydia.

"Let's just go check it out," whispers Allison. "Just in case."

We all tip toe down the stairs. My anxiety starts to grow as the noises in the bushes come back. We all look at each other with concern.

"Keep moving," I urge my friends.

"I'll lead the way," whispers Lydia.

We walk out of the front door and onto our porch. Lydia holds up her bat as Allison and I get behind her. We see someone hang upside down from the roof! Lydia holds up her bat about to attack.

      "AHHHHH," screams Stiles squeaky voice.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING," shouts Lydia.

I relax a bit, but that soon vanishes as I get startled once again when Scott pops out of a bush. My soul almost left my body.

"What in gods name-" I start to say.

I look over to see Allison completely speechless. I see Lydia turn around, she looks annoyed and almost disappointed she didn't get to use her bat. I almost laugh a bit.

All of our faces immediately turn blank as we hear a thud on the ground. Stiles flops around and stands up dizzily.

"What a bunch of weirdos," whispers Lydia.

"HEY I HEARD THAT," yells Stiles as he leans on the railing for support.

Stiles and Scott stumble onto the porch. Stiles falls down a couple of times, but Scott manages to sit him up right.

"So I have an idea," starts Stiles. He sits up with one leg over the other in his chair like a businessman.

"Oh what do you have planned now," I say.

Stiles goes on, "I know it sounds crazy, but... my dad got called out on patrol and...

"What crazy idea have you got in your head," Lydia jokes.

We all laugh a bit feeling more relaxed from the tension earlier.

"My dad just left my house right before me because two hikers called in from the woods and said they had found half of a dead body.. My dad is out finding the other half right now. I was thinking we could beat him to it and go find the other half," says Stiles.

I sit there and look at Stiles like he has three heads.

"What the-," Lydia starts.

I cut her off, "Let's do it. It could be fun I mean maybe we will find some ghosts too," I say sarcastically.

Stiles glares at me, I can tell he is laughing inside.

"Let's go," says Allison.

"Fine," utters Lydia. "But I'm bringing my bat."
