The morning sunlight crept into my room and I lazily smiled to myself. I had completed exactly 2 weeks of school. I had still not made any 'new' enemies and other than that high school seemed to be just fine. Life was still not perfect but I knew I was getting there. I tagged along with Julia and once she even forced me to eat luch at the cheerleader table. They're not as vain as people make them out to be. Maybe a little too obsessed with themselves but I've come to realise that you can't really alter everyone according to your wish.
Anyway I saw the time on my cell and was pretty surprised to see that I had overslept, yet again. I was about to go and continue knew my morning routine, in a haste nothing less, when my eyes traced to the little 'message' icon. I opened it to find a text from Julia
Hey kid. Wont pick u. Find ride 2 schul n bac. Sry
Great. Just great. With my mother's car gone for servasing I was left with only one option. Yes, you got it right.
Troy.
I didn't give it a second thought and went into action mode. After all I couldn't risk being choosy at the moment.
He picked up his cell on the second ring.
"Yeah?" He said and I could here the urgensy in his voice.
"Hey" I replied with compose that even shocked myself.
"Oh, its you" He answered and I could hear recognition spread in his voice.
"Yeah" I went with an easier resolve. I could hear the agitation in his voice and didn't want him to lose his pacifing persona.
"So?" He asked and he didn't have to emphasize his words for me to get rest of the meaning.
"You think you could drop me to school?"
"What about Julia?"
"She can't." I stated matter of factly.
"Oh gee, ride to school, I um..." I could actually imagine the frown lines forming.
"It's okay. I'll um...manage." Which was NOT true. But hey, I didn't want to be a pile on.
I heard some noise in the background and then I was greeted by a high pitched tone.
"He'd be there in 10 minutes." It was Katy. Somebody explain me what is going on, please?
Before I had a chance to reply, the call had been disconnected.
