"Troy!" I was breathless but I still managed to catch him in time. He, for once, actually looked happy.
"Hey!" He slung an arm over my shoulder casually even though I was easily eight to nine inches shorter than him. Yeah, that's weird, I know. But who cares, right?
"What up?" I casually asked him as I snuggled closer next to him.
"Nothing much" he said and before I knew what was happening, he picked me up bridal style and placed his lips onto mine. They were so soft and perfect. Lust got to me and I kissed him even rougher.
"Slow down there, Ammmmy...." I heard a voice say and turned around to find dark-Drake standing there.
My eyes suddenly opened. Whoa...it was only a dream. Only a damn dream! Though I didn't know what to make of it. Because well, I can't consider it a nightmare, right? After all I did kiss Troy and god, did it feel real. That made me wonder what it would be like to kiss him for real. But then there was Drake. Dark-Drake, as I'd like to call him.
I decided to leave the matter at that, for now.
I checked the time. It was 6:30. Wow, from when did I become one of the early risers. Deciding the weather was very pleasant, I got on my running shorts, along with a sports bra. Then I made a decision based truely on impulse. I called him. Troy.
"What?" he sounded annoyed. And tired. Well...it was now 7 in the morning so who could blame him.
"Amber here" I replied.
"Oh" he seemed to moderate his voice a bit, at which I smiled, "What up, Am?" From...when did he become so chummy? And 'Am'? Hmm...I likey.
"You up for a morning jog?" I asked him, cutting straight to the point.
"Sure!"
"Great then. We'll meet at-"
"Amber! Wake up!" it was my mother's voice. I opened my eyes, a tad bit pissed. Such a good dream! Yes, I had a dream within a dream.
“Mo-om!” I rubbed my eyes as I got up.
“Action!” she shouted, “It’s 7” Hah…ironic much?
“Seven!!!” Yikes, I was SO dead.
I went through my morning errands and was ready within a heart-beat.
By 7:30 I was down for breakfast.
“Mum, you gonna drop me off to school?” I asked her.
“Not today. I’ve got a meeting to be at and it’s on the other side of the town” she explained. She aslo told me to ask Sarah. I told her that I would though we both knew that I was lying. I called up Jules. She agreed.
We reached school. Same ol’, same ol’ stuff. Studies, arguments, café fights, you know the routine. Happens in every darn high school. Nothing interesting happened till after the lunch break. It is then that something actually happened.
I was making my way to last period, Lit., when I heard a voice. Drake.
They were in the Janitor's closet.
And Troy.
“I’m not coming back” It was Drake.
“Damn wrong…you are.” It was Troy.
“I am not going back to the f***ed up mansion” Drake said.
“It’s your home. We all need-”
“No, you don’t f***ing need me. Why you even put up with our damned parents is out of my reach”
Troy sighed.
“Look, you don’t know half the things that are f***ing going on so don’t you ever say that. B*****ds like you will never f***ing ever get-”
“Give me one f***ing good reason then!”
Troy sighed again.
“Katy has leukaemia”
And no, it wasn't a dream.
