(Rose)

I looked everywhere on the grounds for Quinn. It seemed he needed more time deeper in the forest and quite frankly since the attack, the woods made me a little uneasy. I decided to head back into our room until he was ready to talk. Throwing the door open I was surprised to find Quinn laid out on the bed, shirtless staring up at the ceiling. The sight was a bit distracting but I forced myself to focus on the task at hand; getting Quinn to forgive me.

"Hi" My voice came out as a whisper, afraid of what he might say. He could reject me, again, and this time I most definitely wouldn't survive it. His head didn't move from the position it was in and I would of thought he was ignoring me until he outstretched his hand to me. A silent offer of truce. Instantly I launched myself at him and nearly cried when his arms slipped around my waist as I laid my head in the crook of his neck.

"I'm so sorry Quinn. I have no idea whats going on, I feel like I don't know who I am anymore. I swear I want you and only you." I sobbed into his warm skin. His hand came up to cup my chin to force me to look at him. He was controlling his facial expressions, but I could see the worry in his eyes.

"I believe you." Relief crashed through me, "But I also believe that there is some part, however small, that wants Cain." I shook my head.

"That's impossible, he's so...repulsive." Quinn's answering laughter was enough to ignore the zap of pain that flashed through me when I said that. He kissed me on the nose lightly.

"That's good to hear."

We stayed like that for the rest of the night. Quinn's body had shifted slightly so that I was completely under him, but I welcomed his weight. It reminded me that he was here, with me. He hadn't given up on us, so I wouldn't either. I will fight whatever is happening to me for Quinn. I closed my eyes and drifted to the quiet hum of my mate's heartbeat.

"Rise and shine love birds." A sweet voice sang me awake. Blinking my eyes I saw Fable trapped in the arms of none other than Ben. I turned my head and smiled like a goofball when I saw Quinn's beautiful eyes staring wordlessly back into mine. Fable's giggle captured my attention and I turned back to them.

"You guys are too cute!" She squealed, "Oh and breakfast is ready in the great hall. And my dad wants to talk to you two. And thats it." She spun around and sprinted off with Ben hot on her heels. I shook my head at their crazy antics.

Quinn's hand gently cupped my jaw and turned my face towards his. It all happened so fast, his lips descended on mine, soft and velvety. I had no choice but to give into the kiss as it turned from sweet to passionate with a nip to my bottom lip. When we came up for air, my shirt was ripped to shreds, Quinn's was halfway off, and I was directly underneath him. His scent wrapped deliciously around me, and I have to lick my swollen lips not to go for more.

He groaned and brushed his lips across mine before hesistantly getting off me and disapearing into the closet. When he came back out he was in a pair of dark wash jeans that hung low on his hips and was tugging on a grey short sleeved shirt that beautifully displayed his body.

And he was all mine.

Sheer happiness had me laughing like I was high as I launched myself at him. He caught me easily and smiled at me.

"What are you laughing at sweetie?" In response I kissed one cheek, then the other. Finally his nose, and both eyelids.

"Just the knowledge that all this-" I leaned back in his arms and ran my hand up and down his stone chest "is all mine made me a little giddy. I just can't believe it." His eyes were swirling with love.

"Well believe it, because all this-" He ran his hand up and down my sides making me shiver when he caught bare skin from my rising shirt, " is mine. And I won't ever let you go."

"You better not." If I lost myself, I knew deep in my core Quinn wouldn't lose me. He would fight for me.

Quinn reached around me and slipped something over my head. I inhaled his musky scent as his huge sweater engulfed my frame. Taking my hand, he lead me down into the hall to where the wonderful scent of bacon sent my stomach growling.

My mouth salivated at the sight of so much food. Naturally my brother and Hayley were up and shoving food into their mouth by the pint. It was scary how much they were similar. Quinn sat us down at the end next to the two of them, and began assembling the biggest plate I had ever seen. He sat it down in front of me before snagging another one, I simply stared at him.

"There is no way I can eat all this." He gave me a wolf's grin.

"That's why were sharing." The second plate wasn't stacked as high as the first, but still way more food was on it that I would ever get for myself. I targeted a fluffy looking waffle and was about to pick up my fork when the delicious food was waiting at my lips. Raising an eyebrow at Quinn I slowly opened my mouth and closed it around the fork, while he pulled it slowly out of my mouth. I licked up all the syrup afterward and nearly giggled at Quinn's harsh swallow as he turned his attention to eating his food.

The room fell quiet as Cain stepped into the room. Quinn's arm snaked around me and pulled me impossibly closer, a low growl emanating from him. There was that voice in the back of my head trying to convince me to walk over to Cain, who was staring at me and Quinn, pain so evident on his face. He cleared his throat.

"Daniel would like to have a word with us, Rose." The growl ripped from Quinn when Cain said my name, his smirk conveyed his enjoyment of taking me away from Quinn. I tried to stand, but Quinn pulled me back to his lap.

"I don't think so." Quinn's voice was dark, deadly. I knew I had to diffuse the situation. I rested my hand against his cheek.

"I want you to come with me, but I want to walk there." No sooner had the words left my mouth, I was lifted into Quinn's arms and he walked briskly by Cain, passing him before setting me down. Immediately I was pulled to his side and wrapped into his side. I rolled my eyes but secretly relished in his attention. I could feel Cain's angry presence behind us and choose to ignore it. Danial's door swung open before we had the chance to knock. His once kind face had turned grim.

"We need to talk."
