"Lia, you ready to go?" The depth of Sebastian's voice sounds through the floor."Yeah, I'm just grabbing my bag then I'm coming." She touches up her lip gloss before leaving the bathroom.
"We're gonna be late by a couple minutes. Did you text them?"
"Yeah, I called Ms. Kim already. She said that it's okay as long as it's not more than 10 minutes."
Malia grabs her bag from the counter and walks into the living room. She puts her arms out to the side and looks at Sebastian.
"You look nice." He tells her with a smile. "That color really suits you." He says, referring to her hair color.
Malia went lighter on the blonde for her wig install. The roots are brown and ombré into the blonde in a beautiful transition. She was a little nervous about how she'd look but was confident that she wanted to do it anyway.
It worked well in her favor.
"Thank you." She grabs his outstretched hand as they walk out of the door. Malia locks the door to her parents' house behind her before walking to Sebastian's car with him.
They get inside and he starts the car before backing out of the driveway. Malia looks out of the window as he starts the drive.
"You making me feel like I should have put on a damn suit standing next to you."
Malia smiles and looks over at him. "Don't say that. You look very handsome. Very... sophisticated."
"Yeah?" He raises an eyebrow and Malia laughs. .
"Yeah." Malia pushes the sides of his hair along its positioned place on his head. "Like graduated with 3.7 sophisticated."
Sebastian's facade cracks and he smiles as he starts to laugh.
"I did, I did.." He says with a head nod. "Don't go saying that shit too loud. They gonna think I'm a punk or something." He jokes.
"Boy, being smart really shouldn't be something for people to try to sucka you for. Your intellect is beautiful. Very sexy, your brain is."
Sebastian side eyes her as he pulls to a red light. "I should put that in my tinder bio."
Malia laughs as she turns to face the road.
"Aye, how long is this dinner again?" He wonders as he looks at the time. He knew that he'd be in town late for Malia. But he's trying to figure out if he should drive back home tonight or book a hotel room until the morning.
"Couple hours. Maybe three. It's an engagement party. This is an important event for Ms. Kim and Seokjin. They want all of us to be there and celebrating with them. I'm happy that you're coming."
"Honestly, I'm surprised that I'm even invited." Sebastian says, honestly.
"How could you think that? You know everybody likes you."
Sebastian gives her a look as if to say that she should know why.
"This isn't about him." Malia says quietly.
