I looked at Mirabel across from me as I could see her taking in what I just said. I didn't intend for her to have pity for me nor did I seek to burden her with my story.

I just wanted to let her know the truth.

Mirabel took in a deep breath and stood up from her seat. I continued to stare at her as she approached me until she was standing in front of me.

Next thing I knew, she hugged me.

I was taken aback. Why would she hug me? I was confused but I returned the hug.

She let go of me and then sat next to me once again, facing me this time. I faced her as well, wondering what she had to say. When Mirabel spoke her next words, I felt something warm bloom inside me.

"Thank you for trusting me Vi. I can only imagine how hard this was for you to keep a secret for so long."

Unknowingly, tears began to fall from my eyes. This caused Mirabel to become concerned as she started apologizing profusely. Even the Casita tried to cheer me up by rocking the bed. I wiped the tears and just laughed.

I laughed with such joy that I never felt before.

Casita stopped rocking the bed while Mirabel just stared at me, confused at my laughter.

Finally calming down, I smiled at Mirabel and tackled her into a hug. We ended up laying on the bed, cuddling.

"You don't need to apologize Mira. I'm just thankful that you are the one I told."

I snuggled into her, relieved that I no longer had to hide my powers.

After a while, the casita sent the alarm clock over, showing us that it was an hour before the ceremony.

I got off of Mirabel as she got up and finished the decorations she was making.

"Do you want me to help you?" I asked as I looked over her shoulders, watching her.

She shook her head as she finished. "Nah. I'm done anyway. I wanna put them up myself and besides, guests shouldn't be here until the ceremony starts."

I chuckled and nodded, understanding why. I know Mirabel wants to prove to her Abuela that she is special too.

Although you already are special in my eyes.

I blushed at my thoughts before hurriedly walking to the door.

"I'll see you at the ceremony then Mira."

She hummed in response as I left the room.

I took a deep breath once I was in the hallway and was making my way home before I was stopped by Camilo.

"Hey Vivi. When did you get here?" He raised his hand towards me.

We did our little handshake before I smiled and responded, "Just came to talk to Mirabel. I wanted to check in on her before the ceremony, you know?"

He nodded as he slung an arm around me and we continued my walk out the house. I talked with him a bit, catching up on each other's life.

"So when are you going to confess to Mirabel? I'm still waiting for my gay babies." He asked as we stopped in front of my house.

I rolled my eyes and punched his arm lightly. He chuckled as he smirked.

"I haven't confessed...yet. She has a lot on her plate right now so..." I trailed off, not being able to give any other excuse.

Camilo just shook his head, smiling. He pat my head as he told me, "Don't worry. If it doesn't work out with her you can always come to me. You know I love you."

Although it sounded suggestive, one look at Camilo and you can tell he meant it as comfort. I knew he saw me as a little sister and I saw him as an older brother. We made this line very clear early on in our relationship.

I smiled at him. "Thanks Camilo. I love you too."

We gave each other a hug and said our goodbyes. He gave me a thumbs up and mouthed the words 'good luck' as he walked back to the casita.

I went into my house, thinking of a good time to confess to Mirabel.

If only the two had remembered that not one conversation went unheard in the town in which they lived.
