This chapter takes place when Fundy was still a kid. When the chapter starts he is debating whether to tell his parents that he wants to be male, not female. The pic above is what Fundy looks like before the transition. Just imagine the pic younger.

Fundy's POV

Today when I came home from school I quickly said hi to my mom, Sally, and went upstairs. 'Should I tell them? No, what am I thinking I may get kicked out or worse! But dad always says to be yourself... Ugh, what am I supposed to do! Dad will probably be fine as long as I'm happy and being myself... I'll guess I can wait till dad gets home and then tell them... I hope they aren't mad!' While I was worrying I started to fiddle with my hair and wish it was shorter. Still worrying, I sat down to do my homework.

2 hours later

I had finished all my work for the day and was playing a game on my phone when I heard Wilbur shout "I'm home" as he came through the door. I immediately ran downstairs and jumped up onto him to hug him. "Dad! You came home early" I squealed excitedly! "Hey sweetie" he responded, laughing at how happy I was. After he sat up he started to pet my ears. He loves to pet me. I usually don't mind that much as long as he is gentle. Besides, it always cheers him up after a bad day. My mom came out of the kitchen and hugged dad "Welcome home honey. How was work today?" she questioned. "It was fine. Nothing too dramatic happened" he said with a smile. "Mom... Dad, can I tell you guys something?" I asked cautiously. "Of course sweetie. What's up?" Wilbur asked. "Ummm... Well..." I stuttered. Suddenly my mom interrupted me "Can it wait till after dinner? Your father is probably hungry after a long day of work." I felt slightly upset but at the same time super relieved. "Umm... Yeah. Sure" Wilbur looked surprised that Sally had interrupted me but just shrugged as we left to set the table.

Throughout dinner, I couldn't relax. As I sat eating I wondered whether I should or shouldn't tell them. Wilbur looked at me and gave me a concerned look. I smiled back the best I could. He still looked concerned but seemed to be a little reassured.

After dinner was done and mom had done the dishes we all sat down on the couch. Wilbur then leaned over and asked, "So, what was it that you wanted to tell us earlier?" I started to panic. "Well... You see..." I stammered. "I FEEL LIKE A BOY NOT A GIRL!" I shouted. I started at my feet waiting for a response. After a whole minute of uncomfortable silence my mom started to laugh! I looked up in shock at her. Through her laughing, she said "Oh, good joke faith but don't scare me like that.""I wasn't joking" I said scared. "Oh... well, that's fine," my mom said slowly. "W-w-wait are you serious!" I was super excited! Maybe she would accept me. "Of course, besides it's just a phase." She said with a forced smile. "Umm... it's not... I've felt like this for a while and... I want to change my name." I said a little uncertain again. "Excuse me!? No. You are my daughter, not my son. If you want to pretend to be a boy that's fine but you can't change your gender. You were born as my daughter and it will stay that way." She stated. "Wait... If HE doesn't feel comfortable HE can change!" My dad intervened.

I was shocked. My dad hadn't spoken yet so I assumed that he didn't like it! "NO! I have a DAUGHTER, not a son! If SHE wants to pretend to be a boy at school that's fine as long as SHE doesn't cut HER hair or anything else that's drastic. This is just a phase she'll get over it." I stared at my mom. Did she really think this was a phase? My dad interrupted my thoughts by stating firmly "HE can do what HE wants to it's HIS life and HIS gender"

Soon my parents were arguing and it was my fault. When the argument got too loud I ran up to my room to avoid the fact that they were arguing over me. I put on some special headphones that muffled most sounds. Sadly I could still hear them pretty loudly because of my enhanced hearing and the fact that the headphones didn't sit very well on my ears. (Fundy hears through his fox ears)

1.5 hours later

I could still hear my parents yelling downstairs but it was getting late. So I circled down into my favorite blanket and put my tail over my ears to try to block out more sound.

20 minutes later

Wilbur's POV

"Let's just talk about this tomorrow it's getting late," I said exhausted.

"Fine," Sally said while rolling her eyes "but we will finish this discussion later! I'm going out to get some fresh air," she grabbed a coat and left still looking irritated. I sighed and went upstairs to check on... Well, I wasn't sure what to call him. As I walked into the room I whispered "Hey bud you still awake?" He immediately got out of bed and ran up to me. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry," "Wait. What are you sorry for. You didn't do anything wrong. In fact, I'm really proud of you for speaking out about how you felt." I comforted him. "You did the right thing." There was a brief pause as I waited for his heart to stop racing so fast. "It's really late," I said after glancing at the clock "Why don't you lay down? I'll stay here until you're able to fall asleep." He looked up at me with a slight smile "Oh, by the way, what do you want me to call you? Since you said you wanted to change your name earlier." He responded quickly and quietly "Could you call me Fundy?"

"Sure! What made you think of Fundy though?"I asked with a questioning look. "I'm not completely sure myself but it's similar to Faith. It's just more unique and doesn't sound as feminine." He said with a sleepy smile. I simply smiled back at him until I was sure he was asleep. Before I left I whispered, "Goodnight my little champion."

This is my first time writing a story and I don't know when I'll update this. That goes for all future chapters as well. Sorry for no Dreambur yet. Also, most chapters probably won't be this long.
