Chapter 9

Y/n' pov:
"Look at this home, we need a new foundation. It may seem hopeless but we'll get by just fine" Mirabel began singing, she hopped up onto the rubble and continued "Look at these families, glowing constellations. So full of stars and everybody wants to shine" she slowly motion the families in side the house to look at the debris with her "But the stars don't shine, they burn and the constellations shift" she ran to Luisa how trying to lift a huge rock off to the side "I think it's time you learn you're more than just your gift" she help Luisa with the rock and patted her shoulder.

Alma popped up from out the corner "And I'm sorry I held on too tight just so afraid I'd lose you too" she started singing too, Bruno came following after Alma shocking everyone except for me, Mirabel, Alma, and Dolores. "The miracle is not some magic that you've got the miracle is you, not some gift, just you the miracle is you" both of Bruno's sisters ran up to him consuming him in a great embrace "All of you, all of you" the triplets sang.

"Okay, so we gonna talk about Bruno?" Camilo began singing a little confused but soon it will snap in his head that he's been here the whole time "That's Bruno" Antonio replied, Bruno gave a little shrug "Yeah, there's a lot to say about Bruno...I'll start, okay" he grabbed Pepa and flung her towards Felix "Pepa, I'm sorry 'bout your wedding, didn't mean to be upsetting that wasn't a prophecy, I could just see you were sweating and I wanted you to know that your bro loves you so let it in, let it out, let it rain, let it snow, let it go" Bruno let imagination snow fall on him as he spun like a ballerina "That's what I'm always saying, bro" Felix nudge Pepa, Bruno slide in between me and Julieta "Got a lotta 'pologies I got to say" he shrugged once more hoping he could make amends "Hey, we're just happy that you're here, okay?" And put a hand on his shoulder and he gave me another flower "Come into the light" Pepa shoved next to us making him in the middle of the tight sandwich "the loved ones all reunite" Agustín said standing above us "And no matter what happens we're gonna find our way" we all sang to him, Dolores painfully elbowed Camilo "Yo, I knew he never left, I heard him every day" Camilo started looking around probably thinking 'what the hell did I do' "What's that sound?" Alma asked
(Oh, oh)
"I think it's everyone in town"
Narrators pov:

"Hey!
Lay down your load, lay down your load, we are only down the road, we are only down the road, we have no gifts, but we are many and we'll do anything for you" everyone in town sang as they approached the ruins of the casita carrying all sorts of equipment for building

"It's a dream when we work as a team, you're so strong" Isabela sand while her, Mirabel, Y/n, and Luisa all lifted a pillar "Yeah, but sometimes I cry" Luisa was singing, her face grew grim and all on them comforted her "so do I" they laughed it off and started walking to the plants "I may not be as strong but I'm getting wiser" Luisa stiffened making herself appear taller "Yeah, I need sunlight and fertilize, c'mon, let's plant something new and watch it fly" Isabela sang as they all planted cactuses "Straight up to the sky, let's go" they were all signing.

Mirabel, Y/n, and Bruno or should I say Jorge were all helping spackle when Julieta and Agustín start singing "The stars don't shine, they burn, the constellations glow, the seasons change in turn" Julieta sang alone know "Would you watch our little girl go" tears almost soaking her eyes "She takes after you" Agustín added.

The house was almost done when Mirabel found Mariano sitting on a step acting sad "Hey Mariano, why so blue?" She sang to him, he looked up giving a pouty face "I just have so much love inside" his singing voice was just how you'd think it was, corny and overly dramatic "Y'know, I've got this cousin too. Have you met Dolores?" Suddenly Dolores popped out of nowhere, and pushed Mirabel to the side and started holding his hands "Okay, I'll take it from here, goodbye. You talk so loud, you take care of your mother and you make her proud, you write your own poetry every night when you go to sleep, and I'm seizing the moment, so would you wake up and notice me?" He leaned in closer not enough to kiss but enough to make her stomach flutter "Dolores, I see you" He said "And I hear you" Isabela, Mirabel, Camilo, and Y/n were all hiding behind a donkey watching and screaming yes! While Camilo kissed Y/n in the process. "Let's get married" Mariano said but was shut down by Dolores "Slow down"

Everyone stood before the new and improved casita all huddling close "Home sweet home, I like the new foundation" Mirabel sand nudging Alma also, Alma gave a little giggle and started singing "it isn't perfect"
"neither are we"
"Just one more thing, before the celebration"
"?"
"We need a doorknob"
"We made this one for you"
Mirabel looked at the golden shining doorknob and shifted to face everyone to find them singing to her "We see how bright you burn we see how brave you've been, now see yourself in turn"
"You're the real gift, kid, let us in"
"Open your eyes
Abre los ojos
What do you see?"
"I see me
All of me"
A glow started to spread around the casita illuminating the door specifically, a shining portrait; similar to the magic doors except it had everyone in the family with Mirabel standing before them—presenting them. It took a second for Y/n to realize that the casita was—it was alive again, everyone rejoiced as the new tiles hulled everyone into the magical casa.

Y/n gripped Camilo's arm trying to catch her balance while the racing floor prevailed, Camilo was latching on to her as well, both 15 year olds holding each other. Once greeted with a still place to walk Camilo picked up Y/n and dragged her where the heart of the party took place. There he twirled and twisted with Y/n till she couldn't feel her legs. His thoughts drowned out by her laughter of joy, the laughter that he used to want like a drug he could now have once more. Ice pebbles started to drop from the sky, Pepa had made it "happy" hail spreading her contenting heart. Y/n had a similar effect with her gift, her wind was going strong swirling and swaying the people near her.

"Everyone get in her a photo" both families gathered together, Mirabel and Y/n were in the middle while Bruno was in Mirabel's left, Carlos was on Y/n's right. The flash was seconds away and everyone was looking pretty and happy but that wasn't the exact case when the casita pushed everyone closer, so much that the air in them was squeezed out but the other crushing people. Y/n and Mirabel had really wished they weren't in the middle at that moment.
