Chapter 5: Resolve

" Hey dumbass! Keep up!" Sen shouted while running in place. He was staring at Issei who was panting on the ground. " W-we have been running for two hours!" He shouted out while Sen just sighed. Issei looked at him and his eyes widened. " You're wearing weights?!" He asked in shock as he noticed the weighted bands on Sen's arms and legs. Each had '50Kg' marked into them though Sen didn't seem to be bothered.

" There's no way in hell I can keep up with you." Issei complained while falling flat on the ground. Sen stared at him and put a finger to his chin thinking about why they were in this situation.

Two Hours Earlier
Sen sat on Issei's bed as the boy prostrated himself infront of him. " Please teach me!" Issei shouted as Sen looked at him strangely. " What?" He asked. " Teach me how to be strong like you!" He shouted again. " First, get up. Second, explain." Sen ordered and Issei followed his instructions. " Well, my eyes were opened recently. I'm really weak." He said and ignored Sen's laughing. " I lost control and nearly hurt those I cared about. I never wanted to do that again, but the experience did open my eyes."

Sen was now intrigued and directed all of his focus towards the boy. " That power I tapped in to. It felt familiar to me. I think i can be that strong though I have no idea how to do it without losing my sanity. Please, I need your help. I need to get stronger." Issei said while bowing. " Tell me, why do you want to get stronger?" Sen asked. Issei stood up and gained a serious expression. " I can't let it happen again. I can't fail those who I swore to protect again." He said while clenching his fist.

He had failed Asia. Even if she forgive him, he could never forgive himself. He needed to get stronger. Sen stared at him for a few seconds before flicking his forehead. " Ow!" Issei groaned while holding the bruised spot. " Look at my little brother. Acting all grown up. Since when did you get this mature?" He asked while walking towards the door. " Stop calling me little brother! You're only a few minutes older than me!" Issei shouted though noticed that Sen was now standing in the doorway.

" Let's go." He said as Issei looked at him strangely. " Go where?" He asked. " We're going for a run." He said with a smirk and walked away. Issei nodded and followed him, determined to get stronger, no matter the cost.

Present
Sen walked towards Issei and reached out his hand. " Get up. Don't quit now." He said and pulled the boy up from the ground. Issei stared at him expecting a motivational speech. " I'll kill you if you made me waste two hours of my life." Sen said with a glare as Issei just stared at him. " That's what you wanted to tell me?" He asked with a blank expression though Sen tightly gripped his shoulder. " It's Saturday. The library gets new stock today. I could be reading the new volume of my favorite novel but I'm out here training your ass. Don't waste my time." He warned as Issei nodded rapidly. " Good, let's go." He said and the two continued running. Sen continued with a quick pace and Issei lagged behind while panting. ' I'm going to die!' He thought with comedic tears streaming down his cheeks.

Two Hours Later
Sen was seated at the table while calmly drinking a bottle of water. Meanwhile, Issei could be seen on the ground panting while Asia was wiping his forehead. " I thought I was dead." He muttered as Asia looked at him with sympathy. " Was it really that tough?" She asked. " It was hell." He replied and passed out. " Um, maybe you shouldn't have been so hard on h-" She looked up but noticed that Sen was gone. " Big Brother?" She asked while looking around.
