I've been writing a lot of reviews through the years and I think I've been using the same phrase over and over in most of the dramas I've written reviews to.
Everyone sure knows what 'The calm before the storm' phrase means. Well, to those who doesn't, it is simply a phrase that implies a certain calmness could be deceiving. Most of the time, it means ordinary times, but most often than not it's could also mean a false sense of happiness – before the real shit happens.
I think I've mentioned before that GMM is really good at giving us the cherry before the sour candy, right? In my own opinion, I think that the cherry is supposed to be Episode 7 and Episode 8 – the previous episode and this episode respectively. And to those unsuspecting fans who are new to BL, just when they're expecting it to be sunnies and rainbows, they're going to drop the bomb for everyone to see – just BOOM. EMOTIONAL DAMAGE!
EPISODE 8 RECAP
Episode 8 started really good. And damn, I would pay to experience that atmosphere myself.
After leaving Pa to her own devices in the previous episode, they officially became boyfriends and began doing boyfriend stuff behind closed doors. Then flash forward a few days later, Pat officially moved residences to Pran's room. Literally. His workshop shirt has been seen hanging beside Pran's, his towel was there, and damn even Pran has now been hugging Nong Nao – Pat's comfort plushie. They were basically sharing the bed together and inseparable. And yeah, I loved it too.
One morning, Pran was happily sleeping in, brushing his cheeks over Nong Nao when he was jolted awake with the smell of gas in his room. In a daze, he looked over the wide opened door and saw Pat outside. A sigh of relief came out and Pat came in, bringing in a tray for breakfast. The engineering student told Pran that it's probably in his room [the fire], with Pran replying the same thing Pat replied to him when they joked around the same thing when Pat slept over once. Pat immediately claiming that it was his joke and Pran chuckles.
Pat just laughs before walking to the edge of the bed, telling Pran that he prepared a breakfast-in-bed special for him, asking the latter if he could scoot a bit. Pran asked his boyfriend what's gotten to him and Pat just shrugged asking the latter what was wrong in preparing breakfast once in a while, and that he only wants to do it for him. Pran just smiles at Pat, subtly appreciating the gesture. Pat lovingly stares back at Pran, asking him if he liked he it (the gesture) and Pran, totally smitten, faked a shiver; telling his hardworking-househusband-for-a-day that it gave him chills although deep inside, was rolling around the dreamboat.
But really, Pran felt weird with Pat's drastic change. It's just a stroke of luck that his years of one-sided, unrequited love have become requited all of a sudden. They were literally enemies – sometimes, most of the times friends who curse at each other – before and in a snap, they were boyfriends who were supposed to be sweet with one another. To remedy, he asks Pat to just act just like he normally does; so in return, Pat, using colourful words (('Asshole! Just freaking eat then) – the dirty talk lol), asked his architecture boy to eat what he prepared. Pran, who just literally woke up a few minutes ago felt like it was very inappropriate, slapped Pat telling him that it was too much before grabbing the fork, stabbing the sausage before dripping it on the ketchup, eating it bit by bit.
