A girl lay on the cool green grass. Her arms and hair were splayed out onto the forest floor, and she looked up at the big blue cloud abundant sky. The wind blew across her body softly, ruffling her hair, her dress, and the trees. It was the middle of autumn, but the evergreens around her were just that, ever green.
The green matched the eyes of the boy who laid beside her. He lay on his back as well, the blades of grass unable to pierce his leather and metal armor. His short shaggy hair rustled around his head, and he looked up at the sky with no clear expression on his face.
They were both careful, quiet, afraid to move. Their bodies didn't even shift, they did not breath, or even blink. But then, the peaceful quiet ended. Fast as a panther, her body twisted, and her lips hit onto his. The careful quiet manner of conduct was gone. Love had replaced it.
His lips held onto hers, and her arms pinned him down. He didn't try to move any more than to kiss her back, hard. He was sick of hiding affection from the world. He didn't care about anyone else seeing. They were alone, away from prying eyes. This thought alone drove his decision.
She desperately kissed him, hovering over his body, letting her guard down. The wind blew her hair down around their faces, hiding the world's view. The grass was ignored as the couple kissed shamelessly. When they were soon to be separated, neither cared about reckless behavior.
Her blue eyes looked into his green ones, as she pulled away and they breathed hard. "Mer, is that really smart?" He asked, not really caring for the correct answer. He kissed her again, now moving himself on top of her. Her red curly hair billowed out underneath her and framed her figure. "Hiccup, did yu try ta stop me?" She replied with a bright light in her eyes.
"Not quite" he mumbled into her lips, but he sighed, "I have to go". He tried to pull away, but her arms pulled him back down onto her. She kissed him again, "no" she murmured anguished, "You'll die".
"Merida, it's the only way to save you and our people" he said truthfully, but unwillingly. She sighed "Hiccup, if you don't come back", he shushed her. "Never say that, I'll always find you" he insisted. She stared up into his eyes, and released her arms from around him.
He unwillingly pulled himself onto his feet, looking into her eyes. He bent forward, extending his hand to her, which she took. Her skirt shifted as she stood and put her arms around his waist. He was so perfect, so warm, do right. She didn't want him to leave, he might not come back.
He put his arms around her, burying his head in her hair. He breathed in a shaky burst of air, and released her. She looked at him, and a tear rolled down her face. He took her hands in his, and looked into her eyes. "Aye want ta come" she whispered blue eyes wet and shiny in the light.
"Stay here please, be brave for me" he pleaded. "I need you to be brave for me". He looked at her desperately, eyes burning with pain. He slightly shook out of fear for her. His fierce Scottish princess, he couldn't let her die.

She lay on the cold hard wood surface. It was uncomfortable, but she was used to the feeling. She lay with her back touching the floor, folding her arms over her stomach. She clutched an object there, a helmet. He had left a week ago, and was due to be back soon. The anguish of the impending fear was too much.
The thought that he wouldn't come home, she couldn't bear it. She gripped the old helmet, and curled into a ball around it. She had been brave, when others were around. But she was alone now, so she let the tears drip down her cheeks. They were cold and refreshing, but she felt numb.
Her mangy red hair surrounded her body. It was warm and safe to hide from the world behind. Until she heard a knock on the door. Two feet shifted behind, no, one foot and a metal clink sounded. She bolted up, hanging the helmet on a peg, and rushed to her bedroom door.
It was flung open revealing him. He was no worse for wear and looked no different that when he had left her. "Merida" he breathed out relieved, and he wrapped her in a hug. She felt her body come back to life, her mind awakening. "HICCUP!" She exclaimed throwing her arms around him.
He ran his hand down her head and hair "I'm back" he whispered. "Yu're back" she replied repeating his words. She gripped him tightly, he was the only thing that mattered anymore. Nothing could tear her away. Never again would she be separated from his side.
