So sorry I'm terribly late with this update. I got sidetracked with my other stories but I'm back! As always, thanks for patience! BTW: no 3rd person POV this chapter

Hasan and I went back to his house and got Monty situated with the rest of the dogs. They all became fast friends and were sent outside by Hasan when the barking got too loud.

I was about to go to my room when Hasan spoke. "Would you like to see the pack house?" He grinned.

I thought for a moment and then agreed. I remembered Hasan dropping off Ridge there before we came to the cabin yesterday. Was it only yesterday? It seemed a lot longer. Of course I didn't tell Hasan the main reason I was wanting to go.

We walked there on the worn path, his dogs trailing us but sometimes leading also. When we arrived I expected Hasan to be distant to the members but he smiled and hugged each one. He was so different from other Alphas I had met. But that wasn't many in the first place.

After Hasan had his celebrity star time we made it to the house. Hasan had been keeping a watchful eye on me during his conversations and greetings. What was I gonna do? Run away? I don't even know what county I'm in, let alone if we're still in the same state!

He did the gentlemanly thing and opened the large door for me and even gave me a few directions before saying he would back. He apparently had a quick meeting with his father to attend but would, as he put it, "return promptly to escort the fine lady around the castle".

That was a bunch of malarkey I wasn't staying around for. There was a security person by the door so I asked him where prisoners would be kept. He told me in the basement so I followed his directions and made it down to the dingy, cement, bunker-like basement.

I looked from cell to cell -thankfully most were empty- and finally found Ridge near the back. He looked fine, not that I was expecting Hasan to have taken a few liberty's and beaten the snot out of him... Okay I did expect that but Ridge didn't seem to have a scratch on him.

"Well, look what the divines have given me as libation! None other than Kynthia herself. Which is great for me because I honestly think I fell in love when you had my life spared." He smiled at me from behind the bars, seemingly unaffected by our surroundings. He came to stand right to the bars and slowly reached his hand through.

I looked to the guard down the hall and didn't see any signs of acknowledgment. I took Ridges hand and squeezed. "Well that's sweet of you to say, Ridge, but I don't think some other people would accept it."

Ridge just sighed, "When you say my name it sound so wonderful. Is that what love is Kynthia? Do you know?" He used my hand to pull us closer but I merely stretched my arm and kept my distance.

"Ridge, it may not seem like it but Hasan is my mate. And he's an Alpha. Somehow that happened." I shrugged at the irony of it. "But if I wanted be with you, I'm sure Hasan wouldn't like the hit to his pride if he just let us go. He'd probably hunt you down and kill you just in spite."

Ridge sighed, "Well at least we have right now."

"No you don't." A voice cut in.

I turned to see an older women standing in the hall. She scrunched her nose and made a hand gesture. "Its fowl to be in here." Her accent was undeniable. British. Why was that important to me? There was some connection I wasn't seeing here..

Ridge growled at her but the woman ignored it. She made a non committal noise and then looked to me, "Come now, you probably have chores to be doing. You shouldn't be fraternizing with filthy rouges." She walked down the hall.

I looked to Ridge and smiled apologetically. I followed the woman up into the main house before she gave me orders to sweep kitchen. I hopped to it without a second thought, I was so used to being told what to do.

Ten minutes after I began Hasan entered the kitchen with the woman in tow. "Mother." He sighed.

Oh. That's what was missing.

"I do apologize son but she was in the prison. I thought she was just a different maid I had yet to see." The woman -Hasan's 'mum'- held her hands up in defeat.

Hasan smiled then became straight faced. He looked to me, then his mom, then back. "The prison? As in the basement?"

"Don't be daft son, of course the basement. She was talking to one of the rouge fellows. A bit too touchy for my taste." She made the same noncommittal noise as before.

Hasan narrowed his eyes at me. "Which cell mother?"

"Oh, I'd say thirteen." She answered.

Hasan's jaw clenched and he took off like a bat outta hell. I guess he knew I was talking to Ridge.

His mother looked me over then extended her hand. "Hello, Kynthia, I'm Mary, you're soon to be mother in law."

I choke on air, mother in what??

Sorry for the wait but I hope it satiates the appetite. I swear I'll work on the next chapter! Thank you!
