"It's only a matter of time," Peter started, "Miraz's men and war machines are on their way here. That means those same men aren't protecting his castle."
Reepicheep perked up, "And what do you suggest we do your majesty?"
"We need to get ready for it."
"To start planning for-"
Caspian and Peter spoke at the same time over each other. The tension in the room was thin and everyone, and I mean everyone, could feel it between the two.
Peter glared at Caspian, silently telling him to stand down which only provoked my anger with him. "Our only hope is to strike them before they strike us." Peter claimed.
My eyebrows furrowed at his lack of common sense, "That's crazy no one has ever taken that castle." Caspian said, practically reading my thoughts.
Peter looked around the room and shrugged, "There's always a first time."
"We'd have the element of surprise" Trumpkin chimed in.
"But we have the advantage here." Caspian sighed, trying to prove his point.
"If we dig in, we could probably hold them off indefinitely." Susan butt in adding another to Peter's idea.
Peter smirked, "So we've come to an agreement. Now I say we start off-"
I rolled my eyes and stood up from my seat, "It's a terrible plan Peter it will never work." I could feel the whole room's eyes on me.
"Because it's not yours or Caspian's?" Peter snapped.
I bit the inside of my cheek at his bitter tone, his choice of words stung but not enough for me to stand down like he expected me to.
I gave an annoyed smile, "I'm saying because I've lived in that castle my entire life." I began, "There's more to that place than you expect, and it was built to be that way. To seem like an understatement for any intruders before they get their heads blown off." I could see some Narnians nodding in agreeance, "Trust me I know Miraz better than anyone here, and if you listen to what Caspian and I are trying to tell you then perhaps we could find a better solution than-"
"Killing your people? Destroying your castle? Hurting your reputation for you to return home?" Peter spit out, his rage was starting to shine right through him finally having enough of me talking.
I scorned, "I'm surprised they made a crown big enough to fit your fat ass head."
Peter took several steps closer not seeing how else to shut me up, "At least I earned my crown and didn't steal it from innocent Narnians-"
Edmund stepped in front of him to prevent him getting any closer to me, Peter's jaw so tense I could practically hear his teeth grinding together. Caspian stood up next to me giving a gentle squeeze to my arm, I could tell he was proud for keeping my stand in not letting Peter get to me. Edmund pulled Peter aside by his arm and spoke to him in a tone that only the two of them could hear. Peter sighed and rolled his eyes, looking like he had lost the argument with his younger brother then diverged his attention to back to Caspian. Again avoiding my sharp, intense glare.
"Look. I appreciate what you've done here, but this isn't a fortress, it's a tomb." Peter's eyes shifted around the room and landed on the large centaur Glenstorm, "If I get your troops in, could you handle the guards?"
A flash of sadness came as quickly as it had gone through the centaur's eyes as he looked in my direction. "Or die trying, my liege." He said in a noble manner.
