Cutie Pie New beginnings: The Start of It all

Chapter 4: the hunger for adventure

cutie pie woke up and looked around. he felt confident after that battle yesterday, he felt like he could do anything he wanted. he wanted to explore the wild. but before he could do anything, he had to find something to eat. he sniffed and looked around, looking for anything that might be edible. in another tree, he saw a bird's nest. his mother taught him how valuable and nutritious eggs were, so it was probably the best idea to go for the eggs. he climbed down the tree he was sleeping on and started climbing up the tree adjacent to it. he saw that the bird's nest was on a branch that was quite thin, and it might be difficult for him to reach it. carefully, he slowly walked on the branch, hoping not to break it. as he got closer and closer to the bird's nest, the branch shook and bended more and more. before he made another step, SNAP! both cutie pie and the nest fell to the ground with a thud. cutie pie got up, and looked at the nest, the nest was able to protect the eggs when they fell, so they were intact for the most part besides some small cracks on all of them. he grabbed an egg with his paws and bit off some of the eggshell. the texture felt gooey and weird, but it tasted pretty good. after eating the other 2 eggs in the nest, cutie pie started walking further into the wild. he was staring at all the beauty, beauty he was never able to see before due to spending most of his life in a pouch, safe from danger. he was so intrigued by everything, until he suddenly stopped and sniffed. this area wasn't safe... he was right at the border of another liorat's territory. he knew if he walked in this direction any further, he would surely get killed. he walked in another direction, hoping that one day, he would have a territory of his own. after walking for a bit, he saw a lake. he ran towards it, as he hadn't drunk for quite a while. he crouched down by the lake and started drinking the water. he felt calm, he felt peaceful. he felt like nothing could possibly happen to him at this moment in time. until a shadow loomed over him... he looked up, and it was a hawk! he quickly started running in a zig zag, hoping the hawk wouldn't be able to catch him or at least get a good grip on him. the hawk landed, barely missing cutie pie. cutie pie quickly turned around and clamped his jaws on the hawk's wing. he quickly pulled away, ripping off some of the hawk's flesh. this gave him enough time to escape, because he felt like there was no way he was able to fight off a hawk, not now at least. maybe when he got bigger, he thought.

he learned that the wild wasn't safe for him, not now at least. so, he walked further and further into the city. until...
