She's Essential

It's a usual day at grey + sloan memorial hospital. Everybody is doing the same routine as always. Carina just went out of the delivery room she was in with her patient, who just birthed two beautiful twin boys into this world. Carina loves her job, she finds it wonderful to see a new life starting and seeing the joy of all mothers and fathers in their eyes as soon as their babies are into their arms. She also can't wait for that moment to come. It's been two weeks and 5 days since her egg got fertilised and was super excited to finally tell Maya that they were having a baby. She was already planning way but then decided to just say without making and special plans because who even has the time to plan anything. She is now is having time to sit in the cafeteria eating and chatting with Dr. Amelia Shepherd one of her closest friends at the hospital. She feels the need to tell her the news, but wanted it to be Maya the first person to know, so she resisted. While Amelia was telling Carina about her last date with Kai, she gets interrupted by Dr. Bailey. She looked very worried and only stared at Carina.

<<Carina..>>

<<What's wrong??>> Carina asked while immediately stood up.

Amelia also stood up immediately, imagining what is possibly going on.

<<It's Maya>> says Bailey looking at the floor

Carina's felt like fainting for a second. Was her wife dead? On point of death? Seriously injured?

<<There was an explotion in the building they were currently scouring. She got trapped in the rubles and probably stayed without air for too long>> Bailey continued

<<They left her alone?? Why was she alone??>> Carina started to freak out

<<Carina this is just what they told me I don't know what really happened>> she shook her head.

<<I want to see her>> impose Carina

<<Carina maybe you should->> Bailey was trying to say but immediately gets interrupted by Carina

<<I WANT TO SEE MY WIFE>>

<<ok come with me>>

They go into the emergency room almost running. Amelia is holding Carina's hand very tight. She can hear Carina sobbing silently and holding back her tears. But as soon as the get there, there was a nurse doing chest compression and Dr. Pierce was ready to use the plates

<<charge to 300 and clear>>

Carina couldn't hold her tears anymore. She sat on the flor. Crying. Amelia was by her side, never left her hand.

<<She has to live. She has to live. I don't want to live without her>> she says while sobbing

Bailey is standing there with tears in her eyes, looking through the window of the ER, praying for her to make it.

<<We got a heart beat>> said Dr. Pierce.

<<Did you hear?? She's back, ok? She's back.>> Said putting one hand or Carina's head and pulling it against her face.

Carina is trying her best to stop sobbing, but now she is breathing a little bit and makes a small smile of joy. She still has no idea what Maya has, if that was it or if there's still something else she should be prepared for. She has no idea, but she now could go see her. Amelia helped her standing up. Everyone left the room and then Carina entered. Maya slowly turned her head to the door and smiled a little bit.

<<Hi>>

she tried to say with almost no voice

<<Nono please don't say anything, ok? just hold my hand>> she grabbed Maya's hand and hold it very tight.

<<You cried>> says Maya

<<I told you to shut up>> she says laughing.

Maya starts to laugh too

Carina takes a very big breath. <<This might not be the moment or place, or maybe it is but i just released that there never is the perfect moment, there are just moments we need to make perfect. I'm pregnant>>

Maya smiles slightly <<what..?>>

She laughs <<Yes i am>>

She brings her lips against Maya's and kisses her gently.

<<I love you bambina, please don't you ever dare to do this again to me>>

<<I will try not to>> she laughs

Hello people and happy new year!! I'm sorry i wasn't truly active but I was busy with school and life in general. This time I'm very obsessed with them having a baby so there are going to be tons of stories about this, hope it's not too much and hope you will enjoy <3
