Alex's pov:
I thanked the Joe, the cashier, as I grabbed my stuff and walked out of the store. It was a small place that sold things for baking, it was also the place where I get my monthly supply of food dye in one of my favourite colours: blue. I skipped along the side walk, humming to Enhypen's song 'FEVER', when I noticed something out of the corner of my eye. I sighed quietly and rolled my eyes, 'Those vampires sure don't know when to quit it'. I eyed the three girls making their way towards me, increasing my pace with every turn, before finally breaking into a sprint. Fortunately, it was 5 in the morning and we were close to the docks so there were barely any people. Unfortunately, that also meant there were no alleys. I make a sharp turn, dodging a fruit cart and weaved my way through the early risers setting up shop. I'm almost there when I realize it's quite, too quiet. I risk a glance back in confusion, that was a mistake. I turn back just in time to see Kelly's claws aiming for my neck. I dodge and stab her side with my sword, but she still manages to stab my left arm. I use the opportunity to stab her neck and make a run for the water. 'Almost there, wait weren't there 3 of them?' Just as I finish the thought I spot Kelly's minions rushing at me from both sides. I timed it perfectly and teleported right as they stabbed each other, I reappeared a few feet away and stumbled towards the ocean. Blood gushed from my arm and my vision blurred. I sank into the water as the fish surrounded me, their voices ringing with concern in my head. My vision cleared a bit but I was exhausted, my body flickered as I teleported one last time before blacking out. 'Dam, this was not my morning.'Antonio's POV:
I strolled through town, helping the villagers as I went. There wasn't really much to do today, so I headed for my favourite place: the lake. It was formed after all the water rolled in three years ago; which was when the mountains split cause we kind of lost our magic, but we got it back so everything's back to normal now. I walked through the forest behind my house, coming to a halt as I approached the huge willow tree. It's leaves kind of acted like a huge curtain, separating the grove from the rest of the forest. Pushing the leaves away, I slid down the slope on a huge leaf, coming to a halt a few feet away from the lake. I took off my shoes, sat at the edge, and splashed my feet in the water; it was nice and peaceful. I stayed there for a while before deciding to head back, Abuela wouldn't like it if I were late for lunch. As I made my way up the hill, I stumbled feeling a small power surge from behind. For a split second, everything seemed to float, including myself. The water from the lake rose up towards a girl floating mid-air right in the centre of the lake. I looked closer and noticed she was unconscious, and that's when everything fell. Me, face-first in the mud, and the girl, in the lake. 'She's in the lake...she's in the lake!' I rushed to the lake before I suddenly remembered that I couldn't swim. I looked over to Parce, my jaguar, and he shook his head, he could swim, but she was too deep. "Go get help! Quick!" He rushed up the slope and disappeared behind the curtain of leaves. I asked the animals if they could help, but she was either too heavy or too deep. I panicked even more when I noticed red liquid rising from the lake, probably from the hole in her shoulder. After what felt like forever, I noticed the rest of my family and a few villagers rushing through the leaves. My mamá wrapped her arms around me "Tonio are you alright? I was so worried." Tears welled up in my eyes as I pushed her away. "Mami t-there's a g-girl in the lake!" She looked at me wide eyes "What?" I repeated myself as I pointed frantically at the lake. She snapped out of her daze, "Isa!" "Got it!" I watched as my cousin, Isabella, pulled the girl out of the lake with her vines. Tía Julieta quickly checked on her, I hoped she was okay.
