My alarm beeps signaling it is 7am. I groggily turn off my alarm. As I stumble out of bed I grab my outfit which is a hoodie and some jeans. Today is the day I go to camp! I'm really excited but nervous.

My phone rings and I notice it is Melanie FaceTiming me. I answer and say "Yes?" She quickly yells "hey put a shirt on god this isn't the hub" "wow chill ok haha" I set the phone on my bed and put my hoodie and Tshirt on.

"Shirt is on you happy?" "Yes very, are you all done packing?" Melanie is my best friend I've known her since I can remember she is also going to camp with me. "Almost just got to put the last few items. You?" "Yeah same"

My mom yells to come grab breakfast. "Oh!, that's my mom for breakfast." As I'm about to hang up Melanie says "Alright! Let me say hi to Kelly. I'm sure she misses me!" "Ok haha, yeah I'm starting to think she loves you more than me haha." "Oh she definitely does." She says in a joking tone.

I run down the stairs while being on the phone with Melanie. She keeps going on about how she wants to have this perfect summer camp love story. Crazy, right?

"Hi mom!" "Hello sweetie" "Oh!, Melanie wants to say hi." "Hello Kelly!" "Hello darling, how are you today?" "I'm great! I can't wait for camp!" "That's great you'll have an amazing time! Remember you can always call me if you need something. Your practically my daughter!" Melanie's mother died when she was very young ever since my mom became her mom too. Which I don't mind! Just means I get to see Melanie even more!

I sit down at the table and eat my pancakes while Melanie continues on about her "perfect" love story she wants. Sometimes she won't shut up haha. As I go back upstairs to finish packing Melanie tells mom "See you soon Kelly!" "Bye darling, love you." "Love you too." " love you mom, thanks for the food." I say Half chuckling at Melanie and my mom.

Melanie sings some song while we finish packing the song goes like.
