Chapter 5: Pawns Tw- (possible obsession?)

    Mono paced around the room quietly trying not to wake the others. The door to the room had opened as 42 was put back inside and the door slamming behind them. Mono had watched as 42 winced getting up from their feet.
    "Are you okay? You don't seem to good?" mono had asked in a quiet tone 42 had responded with silence and just walked over and hugged mono. 'Well that was unexpected...' mono had thought with confusion. 12 had sighed and carried 42 towards their bed in the darker part of the room. They had laid her (42) down comfortably and walked away not noticing the slight glow of the black horns on 42's head.
      "Shwimmy. Get my chess board if you will?"  mono had spoken to her stuffed cardboard box plush and watched it grab the chess board from the dresser. Mono had smiled and began working on the pieces of carved wood. Mono had started placing down the new carved and polished chess pieces in their correct spaces. 'I must use this board wisely...theres no knowing what could happen if i mess this up.' they had taken a deep breath and held shwimmy's arm as they started moving one of the chess pieces that looked like subject 10 and moved it toward their own chess piece.
      It had been hours since mono had taken out the chess board they had given up after 2 failed attempts at trying to make sure that 10 stayed near them at all costs. "What's going on...?"  said 10 mumbling with drowsiness. Mono had looked at 10 and walked over to them looking up at the confused older girl "you were asleep with...32 nobody was hurt don't worry about anything else." 12 had said reassuringly.
       There was some reassurance inside of subject 10 but they weren't so sure just yet. "I don't feel safe...the screams get so loud here that i can almost hear them through the walls!" 10 had exclaimed and gripped their hair with stress and tension almost ripping it out form how hard they were gripping their hair. "You need to calm down! Please! Your going to hurt yourself!" mono had exclaimed with worry as they stood on the bed and pried subject 10's hands off their hair.
      Subject 10 started crying as they fell onto the knees and sat on the ground sobbing. They had started screaming like there was nothing left else in the world... "SHUT THE HELL UP! IM TRYING TO SLEEP?!" 42 had quietly shouted with anger. Player 10 had flinched at the angry tone of voice that was spoken to them. Player 42 had turned over and tried to fall asleep after being woken up by a screaming teen.
         Mono had watched the whole entire scene go down between 42 and 10, they thought it was entertaining to say the least. They thought that player 10 was the scared little doe and that player 42 was the wolf.
        Player 10 was trying to console themself and reassure that they were perfectly fine and didn't need help. "I can see you sniffling you know? Here have a tissue!" Mono had said in a gentle tone as to not scare the older teen. Player 10 had wiped their teary green eyes and nodded carefully taking a tissue from the tissue box the were handed.
        It had been two hours and everything was asleep except for player 42. 'They are all just pawns to me. All i need to do is use them to get what i want, after that I can kill them. Not 32 though they will stay by me they only need me to be happy.' 42 was happy with their thought of explanation and didn't think anything of it while falling asleep just like the rest of the players.
