VENGEANCE
Two weeks after the breakup.
Shinsuke stood in front of the mostly empty bathroom counter looking at himself in the mirror. His dark circles under his eyes showing how little he actually slept these past few weeks, his muscles were sore from his constant workouts and hard labor, he had been working on his Z, his prize possession, the first car you rode in with him when you arrived.
Maybe that's why his eyes would suddenly sting when he was putting together the new engine. Or how splices of memories of Osamu and Rintarou and Atsumu would pop in, how he could see you any time he closed his eyes.
Shinsuke felt dizzy. His shoulders suddenly fall forward as he bends down to wash his face, his whole body in an indescribable amount of pain.
"Man do you look like shit." A lazy voice sounded gently from the doorway of the bathroom, forcing shinsuke to freeze mid face splash.
He must be hearing things now, there's no way he heard that voice.
"God, he does, whaddaya doing to yerself?!" Atsumu? Why was he here, Shinsuke remembered he'd moved away with you? Four hours away, why would he be here?
No ... No ...No...
His shoulders rocked as he slowly lifted his head to look in the mirror.
There was just no way. There was absolutely no way.
Shinsuke eyes widened as big as they could when he stared into the mirror, tears filling up his eyes silently.
"You look like you've seen a ghost." Suna smirks back at him through the mirror, Osamu smiling with an arm around the taller boy's shoulder.
"Or two."
"Why are ya crying? Huh? Where's my little sister? Where's Y/N? Atsumu?"
A sob racked Shinsuke body as they spoke to him, they were standing behind him, on either side and they were warm. There was no way, he saw the body bags. He paid for the cremations.
Shinsuke's hands clenched the edge of the sink as he cried harder, hanging his head.
"Hey...Hey! Lift yer head up, damn it!"
Shinsuke does as he's told, and his eyes meet Osamu's, his whole body feels like it's getting light now.
Shinsuke blinked as he stared at the two figures behind him. Were they starting to blur?
"You need to focus on what you're doing, Shinsuke. We're not in any hurry to wait for you over here, you got that? You have too much to lose, you can't throw it all out just for us." Rin finally spoke up and though shinsuke was nodding and could hear them, he saw them starting to fade and, desperately, he turned to where they were, only to see an empty bedroom, in a quiet house.
His head suddenly felt heavy and as he stumbled towards his bedroom, he looked around for either one of the boys, stumbling to the door but not making it, collapsing a few feet from the door. "R-Rin...Samu..." His hands reached for the door, but his vision began to darken spottily, and he sucked in a deep breath as his body forced him to succumbed to his exhaustion.
Shinsuke woke up two full days later in the same spot on the ground in his room. He was in severe pain from the neck down and his throat was dry, needing water.
It was trouble for him to get downstairs but he did and he was able to sit himself down with a pitcher of water from the fridge, letting it sit to get room temperature as he drank slowly.
He'd never expected he'd pass out and though it was hazy, he could've sworn he remembered Atsumu being here. But Atsumu wouldn't leave him on the floor for two days.
