Chapter 7

I wake up in a different hut and I guess this is where the Med-jacks work because I saw Clint and Jeff in the corner with medical tools

"Well look who finally woke up. How'd you sleep?" Jeff asks

"Fine I-I guess." I say shyly

"Come on, you don't have to be shy around us. You've been here a while and I know you don't talk to us that much but you don't have to be afraid of us." He says

"How's your back?" Clint asks

"It still kinda hurts." I said

"Lay back down and don't stand up or walk for a while." Jeff says

"Ok. Thanks guys." I said

"No problem." Jeff says

"Wait. When do I leave?" I ask

"Thomas will pick you up around 4:30pm." Clint says

"What time is it now?" I ask

"Around 2:50." Jeff says

Great. I have to stay here for more then an hour. Fantastic. Thomas please hurry!

Finally after what seemed like forever, Thomas comes back from the Map Room and picks me up

"What took so long?" I ask

"Sorry we got caught up on planning and it took longer then we thought." He says

"Anything so far?" I ask

"Not really." He says

Suddenly a big thunderstorm came out of no where and we ran to our hut. My back was hurting while I ran but I ignored the pain.

"Where did this rain come from?" I ask

"Eh. Mother Nature always has surprises." He says

"Mother Nature visits this spot?" I ask raising an eyebrow

"She goes everywhere." He says

"But this isn't a good spot, it's a prison." I said

"It's not a prison. It's a test." He says

"What kind?" I ask

"Pff well, isn't it obvious? It's a survival test." He said

"Well I hate it." I said

It down pours for hours and finally stops at 11:40pm. Me and Thomas stay in our hut and talk for a while till I get sleepy. We were talking in Thomas' hammock and that's where I slept and since there wasn't enough space, Thomas took my hammock. Why did Chuck give Thomas the most softest and warmest blanket?

"Hey Minho." I said

"Hey." He says jogging back to his hut

"Anything new today in the Maze?" I ask

"Nope." He says

I walk over to the Garden and see that my plants are already done

"Newt, did you do this?" I ask

"No. I came here an hour ago and they were done. I thought you did them." He says

"I over slept today. Who did it?" I ask

"I did." Thomas says walking up to us

"Seriously? You really woke up early just to do the garden?" I ask

"Yep." He said

"You are one weird guy." I said

"A cute weird guy." He corrects me

"Riiiiight." I said

"You know it's true." He says

"Ok fine." I admitted

"I'll let you get back to work." He says walking away

"Bye!" I yell

"See ya!" He yells back

"Has he asked you out yet?" Newt asks

"What?! No!" I said surprised

"You know he wants to right?" He said

"He does?" I said kneeling down to plant more corn

"Yea. He talks about you none stop in the Maze. At least that's what Minho tells me." He said

"Probably lying." I said

"He wasn't. Even I heard Thomas talking about you." He said

"I like him and all but I don't know if I'm ready to date." I said

"That's for you to figure out." He said going to the other side of the garden

"Well, my shift is done so I'm gonna go back to-"

"Hey Gaby, can I talk to you? Alone?" Thomas interrupts walking towards me

"Oh uh, sure." I said following him to our hut

"What did you wanna talk to me about in private? I ask

"I wanted to tell you something." He starts

"Ok?" I said

"Ever since you came up in that box I felt something. I felt different, like I was happy to be here which I wasn't till you showed up. When you first talked to me me heart skipped a beat when it first heard your voice. You said you trusted me more then the others and I started to have more feelings for you. Might sound cheesy since we have our memories wiped but if we regain our memory, I'm sure I'll still feel the same way about you." He said looking into my eyes

"What are you saying?" I ask

"Will you go out with me?" He asks
