"Can you check this out?"

I look at the guy sitting on the chair. He was creating some beats for this next song we were both handed over to complete.

We were working on a song that sounded different from what we're usually familiar with. It was supposed to be weird but at the same time made you question. "Yeah, I wonder why we don't notice these?" or "yeah, I resonate to that though don't really talk about it!" and so far, we were kind of successful.

He plays the melody he created. It was brief, and I couldn't tell if it were an intro, outro, bridge, or chorus, but it sounded apt, so I passed him a thumbs up.

"Sounds right." I nod to myself. "Yeah. Good so far."

"It's contagious," he says, turning his chair to look at me. "It's rubbing off on me."

"What kind of self flattery is this?"

"I don't know what you're talking about," he defends, "don't you compliment yourself when you finish writing a chorus you're satisfied with?"

"No?" I answer. "Those are words of affirmation."

"Sure, disguise those as words of affirmation.... why not?" He laughs like a rich housewife.

"Shut up, Yoongi." I groan at my co-worker. He had a reply for every situation, whereas I didn't, so I always told him to shut up which was the equivalent of me waving a white flag out of defeat, but he's so adamant that he still doesn't give up.

"No, it's Prod. SUGA at the moment."

Not feeling the need to reply, I pick up my pen and start writing whatever came to my mind. Did I have a clue about where this song was going? Absolutely not! That's the whole point of the song. In fact, I repeat the same process in every song until it reaches my manager, and he sighs heavily.

I can't tell if it's a sigh of contentment or disappointment. Either way, it's a reaction, and that's good.

"Do I write television or TV?" I ask randomly, flicking my pen in anticipation. Yoongi hums briefly.

"Depends on the rhyme."

"I haven't come up with a rhyme yet."

"What was the point of asking then?"

"..... to know if I should use the word 'TV' or 'television'...?" I answer in an 'so obvious' tone. Yoongi rolls his eyes and looks back at me.

"They're the same thing. Why does it matter?"

"I don't know.... television sounds more professional." I exclaim, he nods in agreement.

He thinks for a while before answering.

"Use TV," he explains, "it's not supposed to sound professional."

"Alright!" Upon getting a confirmation, I start writing again.

The room was filled with the sounds of computer mouse clicking and my pen scribbling roughly against the paper. We usually wrote songs together, but this time, I was in charge of the lyricism the most while Yoongi prepared the music. He claimed that I had a more weird perspective than him, so I was better off writing the song.

What a joke, I can pull out several of his songs, released or unreleased, which are on an immeasurable level of insanity. Talk about weird.

"What are you writing, by the way?" Yoongi asks out of the blue, "..... in context to the TV?"

"Can't stop staring at my TV, wondering what I'll play on it tonight? I never go past the wondering stage because I'm waiting for my parents to keep quiet."

"That's weird and sad." He concludes, an expression of satisfaction on his face.

"Just like you and I."

"..... true."
