Lana blinked back the tears. She was certainly not going to cry infront of him. She wanted him to leave and crying would only make it seem like she was not serious on the matter."Aaron. Leave." she tightened her grasp on the doorknob. How she wished the doorknob was his neck. It would have been much better.
He was about to take a step forward when a familiar voice spoke from behind "She told you to leave man."
It was Theo. He stood a few feet away from them.
Aaron turned and his expression revealed how surprised he was. Just like Aaron, Lana was surprised as well. How come he shows up at her place while he never even bothered to talk to her at school? Not that she minded his presence at the moment. She just couldn't help but wonder why he came. Did he finally want to talk and settle things like grown-ups? Lana hoped so.
"So what brings you here?" Aaron asked as he turned to face him properly.
"Might as well ask you the same," Theo eyed him. "Actually, the real question is why are you even here? It's clear that she doesn't want you around."
Aaron chuckled "See now that's none of your business."
"I don't remember breaking up with her," Theo walked towards him "How is it not my business? Leave this instant."
Aaron clenched his fists and jaws "This isn't over."
With that,he walked past Theo as furious as a bull.Lana didn't know what to feel, whether to smile or cry. Its true that Theo never did break up with her officially, so what exactly was his point?
She still had her hand on the doorknob because right now she needed it for support, her knees were becoming weak. Well now she had her support under control but failed to hide her tears. She tried to search for the right words to say but couldn't. What was she supposed to say? Where was she going to start?Theo looked at her and sighed. He pulled her into a hug "I'm so sorry I made things difficult for you."
This was really happening. Did he finally find out the truth? How and when? Lana couldn't stop asking herself that.
On the other hand, Theo didn't break the hug soon. Turns out he missed her as well. "Please don't cry anymore, it's really affecting me in a way you can't imagine."
Lana realized that she was crying only when he said that. She still couldn't get herself to speak.
"Can we atleast get inside and talk?" Theo finally said after a while, still hugging her as though his life depended on it. Lana replied with a nod and in the next minute they were both inside.
Theo chuckled sadly and then looked at her "I'm a total jerk."
Lana was avoiding to look at him. Her tears had dried up but her mouth was still perfectly closed.
Theo took in a deep breath "I know you're upset and probably angry, I'd do anything to make it up for you."
Probably angry? Just upset?
"You told me countless times that you trusted me!"
"I did, I still do," He hurried to say "I trust you Lana."
"I really want to believe what you're saying but if you really did trust me you wouldn't have turned your back on me that day." At it girl, say it all.
"I was confused-"
"For a month?" Lana's voice broke "Theo you ignored me for one whole month, walking past me like I was a stranger and not even looking my way!"
"I get it and I'm sorry Lana,I really am." He sounded sincere. He really wished Lana would believe him.
"Sorry doesn't really change anything,it doesn't mend my broken heart"
Theo let out a heavy sigh as if thinking of something. "Has Aaron been bothering you?"
