Mixed Emotions

Walking into the school laughing Jake and Stephanie split into their separate friend groups. Stephanie's friends; Nicole, Emma, Angelina, and Lea, known as the quad, ran up to her and walked to the courtyard. Then Jake's friends; Sam, Adam, and Matt, known as the triple, ran him into the football field.

Once the girls found their spot in the middle of the court yard Nicole burst into tears.

"He broke up with me!" Cried Nicole.

"Who?" Steph worriedly asked.

"Matt! You know, Jake's best friend!" Sobbed Nicole.

"Woah, I didn't even knew you guys were dating?!" Steph questioned.

"It all happened on the Friday before spring break, he invited me to his party and we kissed, then on Saturday he asked me on our first date, so I really thought he liked me until last night!" Whined Nicole.

"What happened?" Asked Stephanie

"He kissed Alyssa! Freaking Alyssa Smith! Why would he pick her over me?!" Nicole sniffled.

"Ew, that's disgusting! I bet she's using him. But anyways Nicole don't be sad! He definitely downgraded. You're one of the most popular and gorgeous girls in this school, any guy would kill just to say one word to you." Stephanie responded.

"You really think so?" Questioned Nicole.

"Oh, I know so," Steph said. "Who could resist you're beautiful beach blonde curls, sparkling white smile, sun tanned skin, and any guy could fall for you just for you're amazingly green eyes! You're just flat out beautiful!"

"I'm already feeling better, thanks Steph" laughed Nicole.

"How about after 6th hour we ditch the rest of school and do some shopping to get you're mind off of Matt?" Angelina suggested.

"That's a great idea!" Cheered on Lea and Emma in unison.

"Can't wait!" Laughed Nicole

"I'll catch up with you guys at lunch, I have a huge final in Calculus so I can't be late." Stephanie said dryly.

Stephanie was waking through the library as a shortcut to get to the cafeteria when an unknown arm grabbed her and pulled her behind a shelf in the corner, she screeched when the person covered her mouth. Slowly she turned around and her eyes widened, standing there was Xander, her bitter ex-boyfriend.

"Hey babe, miss me?" Xander smirked.

"Excuse me but incase you don't remember we broke up, a year ago!" Stephane spat out.

"Oh I'm sorry sweetheart, I thought we resolved things." Xander grinned

"First off, I am not your babe or sweetheart anymore so don't call me that, and second of all why would we ever resolve things? I'm perfectly fine acting like I don't know you." Sleazed Stephanie.

"Wow Steph, that hurt me." Xander commented sarcastically.

"Why are you even talking to me, you lunatic?!" Stephanie responded angrily.

"Don't you remember us? We were the power couple of the school, people wanted to be us, people longed to talk to us." Xander answered powerfully.

In the middle of eighth grade Xander and Stephanie met, they claimed it to be "love at first sight" of course in eighth grade do you really know what love is? Anyways they really were the power couple of the school, everyone was jealous of their relationship. They really were perfect together Xander's dark chocolate hair, along with his daring forest green eyes, and his muscular build, including his deep protective voice really did blend into a beautiful human being. Then Stephanie's naturally cheerful voice, bright smile, caramel brown eyes, along with her honey blonde hair really was gorgeous. Honesty was the best policy in their relationship so if any of them kissed another person at a party the other couldn't be mad, they were the hottest most popular couple, who could resist them, though not many people kissed Steph for they knew that they would be knocked out by Xander. They were together up until the ending of freshmen year. Then Xander took it too far, he cheated on Steph with the one and only Alyssa Smith. Stephanie was heartbroken when she found out, she ended it right then and there in the middle of their ending of school party. Soon after that Xander's life went down hill. His grades went down and he started hanging out with the wrong group of people. At the beginning of sophomore year Xander was expelled for vandalizing school property. Stephanie was thrilled that she would not have to see him anymore and she soon began hanging out with her childhood friend, Jake Wendleton. Somehow Xander managed to be accepted back, and now he wasn't going anywhere.

"Of course I remember us, but it's over now and you need to understand that. I don't love you anymore and I never will." Stephanie's voice cracked in the middle and she pulled her arm away from him, walking away with confidence, but deep down she realized she had feelings for him and couldn't tell what they were. She walked faster as her eyes welled with tears.

She heard Xander sigh, then she heard something she did not expect to hear.

"Stephanie Marie Collenger, what happened to you? You've changed.."

Stephanie abruptly came to a stop, but didn't dare look back, she slowly started to walk again, beginning to cry.

Once she got out of the library, which was quite big but felt like a small closing space, she rushed to the bathroom, and texted her friends HUNQ, which was their secret code for hurry up no questions.

She slid down the wall onto the cold hard ground and pulled her knees toward her body. Then one by one Emma, Nicole, Angelina, and Lea all rushed in surrouding her, bombarding her with questions.

"Oh Stephanie, don't cry!" demanded Angelina.

"Something terrible happened!" cried Stephanie

"We could help you if you told us." commented Lea

"Come on Steph, we can help." pleaded Emma

"Its-its Xa-Xander" sobbed Stephanie

"Wait, you're ex-boyfriend Xander?" Nicole asked.

"No, the other Xander." Steph cried sarcastically. "He's back!"

The whole Quad stared at eachother in horror, they knew what he did to her and it broke her for a long time.

"What do you mean he's back!" screeched Angelina in anger.

"They somehow accepted him back, and he pulled me aside in the library when I was walking to the cafeteria to meet up with you guys." sniffled Stephanie

"What did he say?!" Lea asked furious.

"Does he want you back?" Emma wandered aloud.

"He kept reminding me of our past relationship..and said that we were the power couple. I told him it was over, and stormed off, but I think I still have feelings for him," Stephanie said confused "I just don't know what those feelings are.."

"Okay, so I guess we'll be shopping for two people today..." Angelina joked "hopefully it's not my day to pay."

"Not the time for jokes Angelina." Emma demanded giving a stare that meant shut-up-before-i-slap-you-across-the-face

"But it is your day to pay, Angelina." Lea interrupted with a giggle.

"Seriously guys, just shut-up" Nicole cried.

"Okay, we're sorry.." Emma, Angelina, and Lea said in unison.

"Guys, today is just filled with mixed emotions." Stephanie said.

Hey Guys,

So this chapter is longer than my other two because a lot of visions just kept popping into my head, so I tried to fit them all in. But anyways how do yo guys like Xander? I personally think there should be a bad boy like him in ever story but that's my opinion(; I can't tell if my story is getting better or not but I hope it is! Ugh btw my birthday is on Friday and I have a science and social studies test, and social studies is my worst subject (oh and sorry that Jake was rarely in this chapter, I'll make sure he's in the next one!) ... please point out those typos!!
