Six Months Later
John still does not remember anything before he woke up aside from the beating he ensued. When Tarlo told him that the people who were after him are dead, he became less paranoid of who we are.

His wounds have healed now which is great.I have now settled on this barren Island for good. I picked up some of the language so I can communicate with the locals.I have tried to jog John's memory of who I am but it was futile. He is beginning to trust me again though. It seems that we have to start fresh with our relationship. He gets frustrated that he can't remember who he is. So I suggested that he reinvent himself, forming the man he wants to be. He has made himself into the most kind man I have ever known. It reminds me of the first week we met. He was so kind, patient and caring.

I think that we can make our life good here. I still have my job and Tarlo sold us the house. Then he moved back to Canada. We have made vast improvements on the house. We gutted the entire place and rebuilt it. Everything in it is new. We bought a cat to keep the mice away. So now we live here and are still getting to know each other again, I believe it will work. He found a job at the fisheries and loves sailing and fishing. We have gotten to know the community around us and sometimes have guests over for supper. Life is wonderful and I think it will remain that way.
