Some squeaking noises woke me up from my deep sleep. The sound of it was familiar. Was it the mushrooms I saw earlier in this forest? I opened my eyes to see a mushroom on top of my nose that was covered by my blindfold. This mushroom was the one I was with before. Same little white spots on their redhead with their small white body and small little nubs for legs and arms. I sat up feeling the tight fresh banges over me reminding me of all the hard work I had before I went to bed last night. I checked on my bandages to see that my chest already had areas that were covered in blood. My wounds must have reopened when I slept. The blood was dried though so at least I know I didn't lose much blood. I should probably make myself a bed with the wool I have.
Looking at the mushroom more closely I could see they were trying to pull off my blindfold. Why are they trying to do that? I can't help but feel bad since they are trying so hard to move it, but the fabric was too heavy for them to move on their own. I guess there's no harm in taking this off since no one is here. I untied the fabric around my eyes. My sudden movement caused the mushroom to get off my face quickly. I took off the blindfold and sat up from the wood floor I was sleeping on.
"Sorry didn't mean to scare you buddy. Are you alright?" I asked him. He was now on my stomach. I offered him onto my hand and he got on. I got him up to my level where he seemed glad that the blindfold was off my eyes. My left eye was green and my right eye was silver. My pupils were the normal black. I wear the blindfold because of the steves. If they saw that even one of my eyes was one color they might force me to group into the Green Steves. I also have a problem with light. My eyes have always been sensitive to light and sunglasses never really helped me.
"You look okay." I got up groaning a bit from my injuries and looked outside the window to see it was misty outside. It must have rained last night. The mushrooms touch the cold glass of the window and steps back not liking the cold.
"Yeah it's a little chilly this morning. I'm going to make myself some new clothes while the mist fades." The mushroom had no idea what I was talking about. I lowered my hand onto the ground and the mushroom got off my hand. I went to where I put all the fabric and grabbed what I needed. I started to sew my new clothes. I use the demi fabric to make new jeans. I used rayon to make myself a long sleeve shirt. I used wool to make myself a cloak that would keep me warm. Cotton for a hoodie I would wear along with the long sleeve shirt. Saldy all of this fabric was white and I had no way to dye it at the moment. I know what I can use. Maybe I'll find what I need to use for the dye colors I want. green, brown, and grey.
I worked on each piece of clothing slowly. I wanted to make sure all the details were right and it fit me perfectly. The long sleeve shirt would be green at some point. The hoodie I want to be grey. The jeans and cloak I want to be different shades of brown. I can just use my white books from my space suit for shoes. I would need to tear off some of the space details though.
I looked around for the mushroom to see it was laying on some of the fabric I shattered on the ground while I was working. I think it was asleep. I grabbed them and let them rest nicely in my hand and went outside. The mist has mostly faded by now and the ground was covered in dew. The forest seemed alive as I could hear life pass through my ears. My face felt colder than usual without my blindfold over my eyes. I probably have a ridiculous tan life over my blindfold from how much I wear it.
I grabbed some plants I could use for dying and enjoyed the misty morning with my little mushroom friend. I should probably give them a name... Raspberry... Rasberry sounds good. I kept Rasberry in my hand as I grabbed what I needed for the dyes. I watched as the mist cleared fully and sunlight glowed through the tree leaves. I saw some figures up ahead. I stopped where I was at and waited for the mist to fade. Once it did I could see a small herd of deer. Just like anything in this forest they were not normal deer. The male deer were glowing like gold while the female deer shined like silver. I watched in awe as these beautiful creatures grazed the grass and weeds. I wished I had my notebook out so I could draw them. Each moment they made some dust of gold or silver come off of their fur. They were made out of silver and gold. Amazing.
I decided to try to go up them as I carefully got closer to them. They paid no attention to me until they saw me getting closer to them. The deer I was close to looked at me with their small black bead-like eyes. I reached my hand out to her, but she ran as well as every other deer in the herd. I was suddenly in a storm of dust as I heard their hooves break the ground around them. They circled me making their gold and silver dust into a storm around me. I coughed heavily and covered my mouth, protecting Raspberry from the dust as well. Soon the sound of their hoovesteps and after a minute the dust settled and the herd was gone.
I was alone where the herd once was. Their dust covered their tracks and I had no way to follow them. I was more impressed than disappointed I wasn't able to touch the deer. They are very smart and I can't help but feel proud of them for that. I made my way back to the house so I could dye my clothes. Raspberry was still asleep. I put them to the side while I dye my clothes the color I wanted to get them. I kept looking outside in hope that Spitfire would reappear. Saldy no matter how many times I would look out my window I would never see a flash of their red feathers. Once the dying was done I had to leave them out to dry. Raspberry was awake now.
"Hey buddy. Did you have a nice nap?" I asked them. They didn't say anything as they started to explore the house while I cleaned up my mess. I kept an eye on Raspberry to make sure they didn't get into any trouble. I cleaned up the cut fabric and dyed putting them into a chest. I should probably eat something soon, but I will hand fish to get some food I know is safe for me to eat. I feel like I've learned so much about this forest when in truth I haven't learned much at all. I looked over at the corner of my eye to see Raspberry on the edge of the stairs investigating them. Just as I cleaned up the last of the dye I saw Raspberry loose their footing and slip.
I moved quickly and had to slide myself on the ground to catch them in my hands so they wouldn't get hurt. A small fall to use is a huge drop for them. My chest skid across the ground causing my wounds to open up again as well as a striking pain to run through my body. I looked at my hands in hope I caught them in time. I heard panicked squeaking and saw that they were alright. I caught them just in time. I sighed with relief and lowered my hands to the ground so they could be back on the floor. The pain in my chest didn't go away so I just watched them. Raspberry ran around the room in a panic and didn't stop squeaking, probably frightened by their near death experience. I took a deep breath waiting for the pain to pass.
Raspberry soon relaxed and looked at me. I pat their small head with my pinky. I decided to keep laying on the ground feeling exhausted from my quick act. I looked at my bandages to see blood seeping through them quickly. This isn't good. Raspberry suddenly pulls at my finger.
"I don't think I can get up." I explained to them. I watched them walk away and saw them tugging at my blindfold I left near my satchel. What are they trying to do? They can't carry that now can they? I tried sitting up, but it only made the pain increase. I managed to get myself on my back. I heard Raspberry leave the immediate area and I just lay on the floor. I laid there for who knows how long. The pain slowly faded the more time passed. I closed my eyes and relaxed since I couldn't do much else. Once the pain was mostly gone I managed to get up to my feet and opened the door.
I saw the little mushroom holding my blindfold somehow with a pink phoenix. This one had ten feather tails. It must be older than Spitfire. Raspberry tries getting over to me with my blindfold. I picked them up and put my blindfold back on. The pink phoenix flies over to me and lays on my head. Is this head thing one thing all phoenixes do?
I felt a bit of energy run over my body, specifically my chest. Is this phoenix healing my wounds? They are kind of like the green steves. The energy soon went away from my chest. It didn't reach my arms or legs. Anywhere the darkness still seeped into my skin. The bird flies off my head and hovers in front of me beating their wings soundly to stay at my level. I checked to see if my assumption was correct. I took off the bandages around my chest to find my wounds heal. All that was left was a large burn scar that took up half of my chest starting from what looks like my right thigh up to my left shoulder. Some stab scars and cuts laid over my chest, but the burned scar was much more noticeable than the other ones.
"Thank you. This means a lot... Also can you tell Spitfire to come over? I'm worried about him." I asked the phoenix after thanking them for what they have done for me. They let out a loud squawk and flew off into the forest. I looked down at Rasberry.
"Thank you too little guy. You got the phoenix here for me now didn't you?" I said acting as if they could respond to me, of course he didn't. But he hugged my thumb. I smiled and went back inside the house. I put him on the window seal where it was now sunny and warm. Raspberry fell asleep once I put them on it. I checked on my clothes to see they had dried and the dye didn't fade or stick into my skin. I put my new clothes on. My light brown jeans; green long sleeve shirt; grey hoodie and dark brown cloak. They fit perfectly on me. I grabbed a small piece of silk ribbon and tied my long brown hair up into a very small ponytail to keep my hair out of my face. I looked in the mirror and saw the new me.
I liked it.

(Words 2027) Sorry it's not the best chapter ever. I just kind of wrote this one while watching it come to life at the same time. Either way I hope you enjoyed it!
