Serina dragged her feet off her bed the next morning as sunlight crept from the window and hit smack bang on her face. She checked the time and quickly got dressed in black trousers and a black shirt. She went up to the mirror and stared at herself. Her eye had turned violet and was the most violet colour she had ever seen. The colour matched perfectly with her hair.

She turned her hair up to a ponytail and stared at herself before quickly letting down it and covering the mark with it. No way was she gonna let anyone see that mark. She quickly got out and stomp down for breakfast. Like she had guessed, Gloria took no time to bomber stuff that made Serina go crazy.

"Why don't you put your hair up to a ponytail today, Seri?" She spoke smugly, swiping Serina's hair under her ear, making sure to make the mark be visible. Serina glared at her and covered the mark with her hair. Their mother came walking with some toast in her hand. Gloria pulled her hand up to do the same thing but Serina grasped her hand and squeezed it tight.

"I'm not hungry. I'll get going." She muttered, walking past her mother. She put a deaf ear to her mother's protests and slammed the door behind her.

. . .

"— And the astronomy club would like new members before full moon this month." The teacher spoke, making Serina look up in surprise as he pointed his index finger at her.

"How about you, Serina? I see you haven't signed up for anything. Not the trip, no any activity. That won't work. Not in my class." Ms Famel narrowed his eyes at her.

"I—"

"No excuses, Serina. You will go there. Next full moon." He spoke and turned to the blackboard and wrote down the dates. Serina clutched the edges of her sleeves and bit her lip in annoyance. Jungkook scanned her expression from the behind table. He did not understand why she didn't like physical activities. She seemed full of energy all the time. Like at the lake. She loved the scenery.

After class ended, Jungkook tried to catch up with Serina, but she was too fast. He managed to follow her half out of the school but lost her in the street.

Serina walked quickly back home and ran to her room. She shut the door behind her before Gloria came home and dumped her face on the pillow and threw her bag down the bed. She looked up as the sunlight fell on her face.
