Part 8

Days had passed and Morpheus completely stop bothering the brothers and the Duke. They rarely come across her, not even in a dining room. If they do, Morpheus doesn't give a damn about their presence and just continues what she was doing. Morpheus just approaches them if she needs something and nothing more.

As for Aileen, she always sends someone to observe Morpheus and is currently planning when to execute her plan of erasing Morpheus' existence once again.

At ngayon ang araw na sa tingin nya ay magsisimula muli ang pagtupad ng plano nya against Morpheus.

"Daddy, I heard you are calling for me?" She delightfully said.

The Duke just stared at her expressionless, but  Aileen is happy with that because she thinks it's better than how the Duke treated Morpheus. She thought she's better than Morpheus at all aspects of this house.

'Why can't he just tell me that he missed me? The duke really doesn't like expressing his thoughts.' Aileen proudly thought.

"I apologize for calling you so unexpectedly, Aileen. Rest assured, it won't be long because I have a lot to do in preparation for the celebration of the Astaire Dukedom's 100th founding anniversary." The Duke stated.

Aileen just smile and told the Duke that it's alright since she has nothing to do today anyway.

"So, what is it that you wanted to tell me, Daddy?" Aileen asked happily.

"It's about your older sister Morpheus' maid. I sent her one and only maid away a few days ago, so she doesn't have anyone to assist her in managing the west wing. She requested that perhaps we can send a maid to her. I don't want to make the West Wing look incompetent during the celebration. I'd like to ask if you could lend her one of your maids?" The Duke briefly explained.

Aileen thinks for a second and she immediately comes upon how the situation will be beneficial to her.

"Surely, Daddy. I'd be delighted to. Sister Morpheus may be having difficulty dealing with herself alone. My poor sister...don't worry, Daddy, I'd immediately dispatch one of my best maids. I'll pay her a visit as well to make sure that she's in good condition." Aileen said.

"Thank you very much, Aileen. You still care for her regardless of what she's done to you. You are really a wonderful child." Said the Duke and he slightly smile.

Although his eyes don't seem to be happy, Aileen interpreted the Duke's gesture as a way of expressing his love for her since everyone knows that the Duke rarely smiles and shows affection.

Nakangiti itong lumabas ng opisina ng Duke at agad na nagtungo sa kanyang silid.

Aileen's POV

What nice timing. I thought that brat has changed but seems like she's still the naive girl I've pushed on that lake. She can't ever do things on her own, yet she dared to hurt and belittle me.

"Just you wait Morpheus. Soon enough you'll meet your beloved Mother."

I laughed as I imagine her begging to live in front of me while she's down on her knees. HAHAHAHA that would be a sight to see.

This time I won't miss.

Mas lalong lumaki ang ngiti ko nang pumasok na sa aking silid ang taong hinihintay ko.

"My Lady, pinapatawag nyo raw ako." Magalang na panimula nito.

Alisha, my most trusted maid. Just like any other lowly kind of person, she will always do what I tell her to do. They are all just a stepping stone to me, a puppet indeed.

"I've got a task for you, Alisha."

"I'll do anything for you, My Lady." She answered politely. Of course, you will.

If it's against Morpheus, this lowly maid will never betray me no matter what I ask her to do.

"Morpheus requested for a maid at ikaw ang ipapadala ko. You know what to do right?"

I smirked at the thought that this is the opportunity of seeing that brat dancing in my palm again.

Cleryvan's POV

She's here again. That punk. When did he ever get close to Morpheus?

"Captain, is there a problem?" It's my subordinate.

"What?" I coldly respond.

Right. This guy is one of my subordinates, a talkative one, and likes gossiping about other people's lives. Maybe he'll have some use today.

"Kanina pa ako dito nagtatanong but you've been daydreaming, Captain. What's wrong? You're not the type to get easily distracted."

What a blab.

"C'mon Captain tell me. Maybe I can help. Is it about a girl? Oh ho does our cold as ice captain find the love of his life? Oh ho ho ho." He maliciously said.

"Quit blabbering, Elpis." Asik ko dito.

"Ahyo. Why can't you just tell me, Captain." Pangungulit parin nito.

"Fine. Who's that punk eating with Morpheus?" I asked and pointed out the two.

"Huh? Lady Morpheus is here again?" Kunot noong tanong nito habang nakatingin sa dalawa.

"What, are you just going to answer my question with a question?" Seryosong tanong ko dito.

"Whoah. Woah. Chill Captain. Chiiilll--

I glared at him. And give him the just answer the question before I break your neck look.

"Hehe ok ok. That guy's name is Kastor. He's a knight under the command of Captain Miltiades, your brother." He said.

It's not enough.

"Why is he here? Miltiades' knights usually don't train in this training ground whenever we are here." I asked again.

"I don't know, but I've heard that's Young Master Miltiades' punishment for him, train every day even if we're here; don't ask me what he did to make your brother punish him, because I don't know either." He said shrugging his shoulders.

Miltiades is quite annoying too and chatty but he will never give punishment to his subordinate out of nothing.

"Why is Morpheus with him?" Tanong ko ulit na agad kinalingon ng Elpis na ito. He's now staring at me as if I did something wrong. This punk!

"Hmmm... You don't usually stick your nose to other people's business Captain? Especially if it's about the Young Lady Morpheus. What happened?" He suspiciously asked.

"Who are you to ask? Do you want me to show you the short way to the afterlife?" I coldly said.

"Alright alright. Chillax Captain. Kastor was the one who saved Lady Morpheus when she almost drowned. Maybe the Lady was just returning the favor and you know maybe the Lady is looking for a friend to talk to since her relationship with all of you is kinda hehe." He's being careful with his words now. You're afraid to die now huh, Elpis.

"W-well I'll continue training now, Captain." Then he quickly runs and returns to his post. Tsk.

"A friend huh."
