Midoriya Izuku was an ordinary student in a world full of heroes, he wanted to show the world that anyone could be a hero even if they are Quirkless. One day, he was bitten by a genetically modified spider that had given him the abilities of a spide...
Midoriya stood over his Father's grave, cleaning the tombstone while talking about what had happened recently before placing incense and flowers and giving a prayer.
"Wish me luck that when school opens again tomorrow I won't be in any trouble." he said before leaving the cemetery, heading back home. Once he got back home, he ate some instant noodles since his Mom isn't home a lot due to her having to work late.
He sat on his chair, replaying the events that transpired the day before. Aizawa fighting, Kurogiri, the multitude of villains, All Might's secret, everything. Looking over at his calendar, he noticed that the sports festival was approaching pretty quickly.
He plopped on his bed, closing his eyes and hoped that tomorrow he wouldn't be in deep shit for being Spider-Man since All Might found out.
The next day came along and Aizawa was already back despite his injuries, discussing with the class about the sports festival and how some villains should cause the cancellation of the event. The entire festival is meant to show the world how capable you are, allowing you to get opportunities to intern with Japan's greatest heroes.
Lunchtime came along and All Might appeared out of nowhere to get Midoriya to discuss certain topics regarding what happened before.
"Young Midoriya, I'm sure you must have some questions after the events that occurred back at the U.S.J." All Might said as he poured some green tea for Midoriya.
Midoriya nodded as he picked up the cup of tea in his hands before All Might stood up from the couch, walking over to his window. "5 years ago, I got injured from a battle I had against a villain. Destroyed respiratory organ, full gastrectomy, and the after-effects of the surgeries left me haggard. After that day, my time as a hero was reduced to 5 hours per day, but because of the fight against the Nomu, it's been reduced down to 3 hours recently."
"5 years ago... wasn't that the fight you had against Toxic Chainsaw?" Midoriya asked as he kept his eyes on All Might.
"You know well, but that villain can't bring me down. The public doesn't know about this because I asked them not to announce it. The symbol of peace cannot be defeated by evil. The reason I laugh is to distract myself from my inner fears and the pressure of being a hero." All Might replied before turning around to look at Midoriya.
"I have seen what you have done before as Spider-Man. Everything you do, you do it because you genuinely want to help people, even the smallest things like helping an old lady cross the street."
"You're not doing it for the fame or glory of being a hero, but from your heart and dedication to standing up for the little guys is what separates you from the other heroes."
Midoriya took a sip of the tea before setting it down on the table, "But, why have you brought me here? I don't understand."
All Might looked down at the ground before looking back up at Midoriya, "With a bit of mentoring from myself, I believe that you can become my successor."
Midoriya was shocked, he didn't know what to say. Becoming All Might's successor is such a big leap from being the local friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man. "I... Thank you, All Might. But, I-I'm good."
All Might was a bit confused by what Midoriya, "You're "good"? How are you good?"
"W-well... I-I mean I'm- I'd rather I stay on the ground for a little while. Being the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, somebody is gonna have to look after the little guys right?" Midoriya replied nervously.
"You're turning down the opportunity to become the number 1 hero and to be known as the next Symbol of Peace? You better think about this, young Midoriya." All Might said, wanting to have Midoriya reconsider this chance he has.
Midoriya contemplated on this chance he has to become greater while All Might waited for his answer. "Last chance, yes or no?" All Might asked.
"No." Midoriya gave his final answer as All Might smiled, Midoriya got up from the couch and went over to All Might, shaking his hand, "Thank you, All Might."
"Very well then, young Midoriya. Go and enjoy your lunch."
Midoriya started leaving the room but stopped at the door, turning around "That was a test right?"
"Yes, you passed." All Might replied before Midoriya cheerfully headed out of the room, "Thank you again, All Might!" can be heard down the hall before he headed to the canteen to eat lunch with Bakugo, Iida, and Uraraka.
The day went by quickly and the final lesson ended, everyone packed their bags to start going home. Uraraka opened the classroom door to be met by a bunch of students outside their classroom.
"What's happening?!" Uraraka yelled out as Bakugo stepped forward, "Scouting out their competition since we survived the villain's attack."
Bakugo got in front of the people at the door, "There's no point in doing that, so move the fuck out of the way."
Some purple-haired guy walked through the crowd, talking about some random stuff that Bakugo didn't really care about so he just walked past him and started heading back home.
Everyone else in the class followed suit and pushed past the crowd while they all stared at them passing by. The group stuck together for a while before each of them went their own way, eventually leaving Midoriya alone as he headed back home.
On his way back, he scrolled through his phone, reading the reports on the vigilante called "Iron Heart" and another about a rescue scientist hero who had 4 robotic tentacle limbs saving some people in a fire recently.
Once he got back home, he started planning out the weeks before the sports festival on what exercises he could do and began brainstorming ideas on what he should do during the festival so people wouldn't think he's Spider-Man.
More interesting stuff next time since the first episode of Season 2 is basically a filler and I don't really want to dive into the Festival Arc yet. Also, if you guys got any ideas on who Midoriya could be interning with, let me know.
