This isn't a slam poem but I figured I should throw it in the mix. It's a monorhyme poem I wrote and decided to share. Hope you enjoy.

It's about time to say goodbye
To all problems that underlie.
Before I get the chance to cry,
My gaze catches way of the midnight sky,
I reach for stars that shine too high,
Ones that even gravity allows to defy.
As my shooting star burns by,
Another year escapes my eye.
