It's a tugging on my chest,
A tightness on my torso.
My trauma likes to hug,
But it feels like I'm suffocating.
It pops up at unwanted times,
From a word phrase or action.
It hates for me to talk about it,
Yet wants to be the centre of attention.
It makes me want to scream and cry,
But I stop it; and it comes out as a joke.
Hahaha, please laugh at my joke,
It hurts, so please just laugh at my joke.
It may not be funny but its helping me to cope.
So please laugh at the joke.
