“Kid get up this is the last time I'm doing this, y'know how bad my payment is” a familiar voice echoes in my head I try to think who it is but it doesn't ring a bell, I open my eyes seeing a boy the same age as me with long brown hair black rings around his eyes as-if he'd spent countless days without sleep. I remember. He was my childhood friend growing up well until I became a contractor, I left school the second I did and begun to live on my own it was a reasonable action to ensure the safely of everyone around me but I came to regret it.

I had just moved house away from my parents both of them seemed suspicious of me leaving so fast but they didn't stop me they thought if I couldn't cope id be back here in a flash. I never went back. It was that day I began to look for work anything would do manual labour, working in a office, killing it didn’t matter to me aslong as the pay was reasonable. A few months had passed and I was getting conformable with my new life but there was a boy who I missed a lot since I moved, we were almost inseparable as kids but lost contact over time.

***

It's Nekyia.

Meet me at the old cemetery.

Come alone.

When I get home from a job relating to the assassination of some contractors I find a note stuck to my door, it's from Nekyia the boy from my childhood I had missed so much, my heart begun to beat faster than normal as I read it, I cannot believe this! I think to myself I almost let out a little laugh till I remember what I am. A contractor a emotionless being bound to rational thinking, It was a pain to accept it but I might not be able to face him as I am, it was obvious that I had changed since we were kids and what would he think of me? Haha look at my a contractor with a conscience how pathetic.... I take my usual jacket, black with red stripes down the side and sling it over my shoulder just in case it got cold later and its stab proof at least just to be sure just in case since I don't know what to expect.

I arrive at the graveyard, its close to where I live so was a convenient choice of venue. The giant stone church overshadows the graveyard and makes everything appear darker than it is, I notice around the graves especially the fog is think, its unusual to have fog around here so this much in one place is disconcerting.

“Hey long time no see” Somebody says behind me. Its Nekyia I could recognise that voice from a mile off even after all these years. I turn around.

“Heh. Looks like you've seen a ghost” He comments, his body entirely covered in chains beneath that a ripped school uniform, blood smeared across his shirt and mouth and worse of all his eyes they look almost completely blank and without empathy as he wears a unrealistically large smile.

He's a contractor.

“What did you bring me here for” I reply trying to shake what sounded like fear from my voice. It was obvious he heard it as he snickered slightly at me but he composes himself once he sees me glaring at him.

“I'm here because of him not you. I just thought I could use some help” He explains pointing behind me, I stay perfectly still noticing a forever increasing shadow looming over my head.

“Shit” I mutter under my breath as I dive to the side and by the looks I got away just in time behind me was a massive man bald and carrying a large tombstone his body is literally a giant mass of muscle.

“Yeah that guy, I'll help in as minuet” Nekyia playfully comments as he vaults over a tomb and almost vanishes in the fog.

I take a deep breath and decide to focus on the problem at hand it's obvious he isn't a contractor or at least that attack wasn't caused by him being one, it would be a problem facing him head on. Think... Think... Think... That's it! My eyes light up as I determine a way I could win or at least get the upper hand on him. I drop to the ground and grab a handful of the tomb which he managed to shatter when he tried to hit me earlier, I stand back up again suddenly realising that he's closer than I thought. I jump back careful to avoid any obstacles behind me. I throw the stones in my hand using my power to charge them, they shoot almost instantaneously from my hand straight at the man, the tear his clothes and flesh like a shrapnel bomb went off right next to him!
