The carriage pulled up in front of Karl's big and absolutely gorgeous house. Otto jumped out of the carriage first then Karl got out. He held out his hand for you like the gentleman he is as he helped you out of the carriage. Otto ran inside and Karl linked his arm with yours as you walked inside.

Once you were all inside Karl took you to the couch and you both sat together. Otto was on the floor in front of you both playing with some of his toys. Karls arm hung loosely around your shoulder as you had normal adult conversations. It was nice to talk about things other than work and to actually talk outside the office.

"Sir, dinner will be served in about an hour." One of the maids said as she came out of the kitchen.

"Thank you Elizabeth." He smiled and dismissed her back to the kitchen. "Would you like me to read to you for a bit darling?" He offered.

"That would be nice. I feel like your voice is perfect for poetry." You commented.

"Is that so?"

"It is. I love poetry."

"As do I. Let me grab a book and I'll be right back." He kissed the back of your head and got up to find a book from his library.

"Find one?" You asked as he sat back down on the couch.

"I did. Now let's find one. Ah, here's one for you."

"Love a girl who writes, and lives her many lives;

You have yet to find her, beneath her words of guise.

Kiss her blue- inked fingers,

Forgive the pens they marked.

The stain of your lips upon her she one she can't discard.

Forget her tattered memories,

or the pages others took; you are her ever after

the hero of her book."

Karl read to you. You curled up against his chest.

"You are the hero of my book." You mumbled against his shoulder. He smiled and kissed your head.

"That makes me very happy."

After reading a couple more poems to you Otto came downstairs to show you some of his toys and some books in his collection. From the outside it looked like a happy little family sitting in their living room enjoying a simple winter's day. You and Karl listened intently to Otto tell you all about the things he brought down from his room. More and more your head began to rest against Karls shoulder and he welcomed the affection.

"Sir, dinner is ready." Elizabeth said coming back in from the kitchen.

"Thank you Elizabeth. Otto go get washed up for dinner." Otto went to the washroom to wash up while Karl took your hand in his and led you to the kitchen. He pulled out your seat then sat beside you. Once Otto joined you he sat on his fathers other side.

Dinner was great, one of the better meals you've had since your mother passed away years ago. You were a good enough cook but you never got much training in the kitchen. After you all finished dinner you all sat and talked. You and Karl shared another glass of wine and Otto had some juice.

"Otto it's time for you to start getting ready for bed. Go upstairs and brush your teeth and hair and get changed please. I'll be up to tuck you in in a few minutes." Karl instructed.
