Harry's POV
Damon had a weird taste for houses. This halfway was full of expensive-ass looking embellishments and decorations but it also looked a million years old. Sitting here for this whole time and not knowing what was going on made me want to scream- but for her I had to keep myself together.
Suddenly I hear Damon scream for me from inside. His throaty, evil laugh sent chills down my spine. Regardless, I stood up about to go in when I heard laughter from another voice. It was soft and velvety and so familiar. What was going on?
"I love you Damon" I heard Davina's voice proclaim. She laughed again. Then there was utter silence.
"Oh Harry just ignore him I'll be out in a few." Davina shakily yelled out. My ear was cupped to the door in an attempt to hear. There was something wrong. She would never throw out the words "I love you" like that. She may love him but right now there was just too much going on for that to be said. I felt as if there was poisonous acid roiling in the pit of my stomach.
Departing the crown moldings, I grabbed the doorknob and barged in.
"What" I said in confusion. Her face was blank-almost bored. Damon had Davina pinned to a wall. There was a girl sitting on the couch looking at Damon and Davina, she looked amused.
It took Davina a good few seconds to process that I was there. Her features immediately changed- her mouth was now in a hard line in anger. It was almost as if someone shook her back to life.
"Harry. Run. Go away, I will be okay," she begged. So I ran towards her. All I could think about was destroying that bastard. Grasping his shoulder from behind, he turned towards me and I pushed him towards the wall. Davina moved away and watched me. I put my hand around his neck and pinned him against the wall. His fast heartbeat was thumping in my hand from his neck.
"Touch her again and I'll twist this neck of yours." I sneered.
"And he actually keeps his word unlike others I know." Davina interjected. I smirked and glared at his blue eyes. He nodded lightly. The tempt to live up to my threat was strong but Davina peeled my hand off him.
Davina's POV:
I placed my hand on his and tried to peel it off Damon's neck. Damon stepped away and regained his breath. He took a step away from the both of us but said, "I can't guarantee I won't touch her again." His eyes were locked right on me.
"Cheryl, I think it's time I could go for those drinks." I had to extract whatever information I could from them. I wanted to leave here with my money safe. Harry raised his eyebrows in confusion.
Cheryl looked a little thrown off too but got up and went to get the alcohol. Harry needed to leave. The more he pissed off Damon the less likely I was going to get my money. I wanted to tell him privately what happened, but I know him too well. If I told him, he would want to stay for sure and most definitely would not leave. And I don't want him getting anymore entrenched in my issues.
"Thank you," I looked up at him trying to plaster a smile on my face.
"I just have to sort out an affair with them and I will be done. He won't touch me. Harry could you, uh, leave." I whispered. It ruined me to be so rude to him.
"Gorgeous you know I can't do that." He drawled as he twirled a piece of my hair and looked straight at Damon. The dimmed lights illuminated his face with shadows that danced across his face. The shadows flickers made his tattoos glimmer in the light here and there. His green eyes were dark and jaw clenched. I have never seen him like this.
"Harry- please." I said looking straight at him; my eyes were in contact with his collarbones which rose and fell with each breath he took. The piece of my hair that was wound around his finger fell back on my shoulder. He turned away from me and walked straight to Damon. Damon was leaning against the wall with an amused look on his face.
