ok so i love the fact that it's an immigrant family with trauma because a lot of media seems to gloss over that- for instance, one shoe that portrays is really well is legend of korra which i just finished watching last week. i'll rant about that later.
but hell yea abuela (wth is her name) not really knowing what to do w everyone and making sure she's in control or else everything will fail and there'll be cracks (metaphorically n physically) in her family and home; p much pushing all her emotions inside and not dwelling on the past much like my dad because he's a control freak in a passive way and i hate it i need fucking therapy and so does he >:(
also one of my kinda fav funny parts about the movie was the "my name is hernando and i am scared of nOTHING"
