Prologue

Y/N's POV

It was a Sunday, I was setting everything up in my new apartment. After 2 days of tedious work of the setup all I had to do was go around looking for admission in a good university in Los Angeles I went to almost 24 universities and spoke with dad about it, we decided to admit me at University of California. After all the procedures I came to the university it was my first I was excited.

3rd Person POV

Y/N entered the university, and started walking in the campus area until accidentally bumped into a girl with blonde hair who was carrying her books and files which fell on the floor.

Y/N's POV 

I was embarrassed, I immediately helped her with the books and the files and apologized to her for my carelessness.

Chloe's POV 

"It's okay," I replied, he asked me if I was a newbie to which I nodded yes. "Hi I'm Y/N L/N" he introduced himself smiling at me, I smiled at him replying "Hi I'm Chloe Decker", he asked me if he could help with my books and files to which I replied yes. He followed me to the class with the half the load with him and placed the books on the professor's desk with me.

Time skip

After the first day was was over he came running towards me and asked me about my experience of my first day, which I obviously told him. He seemed to be charming and kind. He asked me if I was the same Chloe Decker who he had seen in Hot Tub High School to which I felt embarrassed which I think he saw and apologized for asking the question. He then asked me if he could meet my mom saying that he was a big fan of hers to which I replied yes, but she'd coming tonight by 8:00 pm to which he replied that he'd be coming at my place by 8:30 pm to which I agreed.

After I reached home mom called me to ask me about my first day at the university to which I narrated the whole incident, after she heard the whole incident she started teasing me saying that I made a boyfriend on my first day to the university to which I blushed. She told me that due to some changes in her shooting she would reach home by 9:00 pm to which I told her that he would be coming by 8:30 pm to which she replied that I need not worry by saying that he's a nice guy.

Time skip

Y/N's POV 

"OMG I'm gonna meet the Queen of '80s Cheeseball Sci-Fi" I said to myself, I looked at the watch I saw it was already 8:00 pm so I rushed to take a shower, after having my shower I wore my classy black suit and rushed to my car and drove to a local flower shop and bought two bouquets and bought a pizza for me and Chloe when I reached her house she seemed to be alone, I asked her about her mom's arrival to which she replied that she would be arriving in about 30 to 15 minutes I brought in the gifts seeing which she was surprised I told her that the bouquets were for her mom but pizza was for her, after having the pizza we spoke about our childhood until Chloe's mom arrived and saw us speaking with each other, she then rushed towards Chloe and gave her a big hug.

"Wow, what a lovely mother you've got Chloe, I thought that she was your elder sister at first" I said complementing the pair, her mom smiled at saying  "I've heard I have a big fan at my daughter's place."

"I'm the fan Mrs. Decker." I said smiling. We then had a nice dinner which was cooked by Chloe."You cook well, I mostly loved the sandwiches Chloe, could I get our recipe?" I asked her smiling, "You're making me blush Y/N" she replied blushing. We had a good chat and when I checked my watch I realized that its been past midnight so I told them that I'd have to take a leave since I have to go to the university tomorrow, before leaving I asked Chloe if she'd like to have a ride with me to the university tomorrow to which she replied yes.

3rd Person's POV

As  time passed Y/N and Chloe grew to be good friends and became almost inseparable. One night Y/N called Chloe telling her that wanted to tell her something important, to which she agreed and came at his apartment.

Y/N's POV

We both drove to a nearby park and walked in, Chloe started asking me what I wanted to tell her, so I replied "I want you to know the truth, y-you've been my best friend and will always remain my best friend but I also want you to know that I-I love you Chloe, I fell in love with you the first moment I saw you, I love you more than anything, even life." saying these words I gave her a quick kiss, but our moment was interrupted by a call which told me that my dad has died in a car crash, hearing this news broke me down completely.

Chloe who was standing there saw me breakdown and asked me what had happened and I narrated to her what had happened, after hearing what had happened she hugged me tight and I returned the hug. we then waked to my car and I dropped her to her house and told her that I'll be back giving her a kiss. 

3rd Person's POV 

Y/N went to San Francisco to his father's place for the funeral and stayed there, his only family he had had gone away from him this made him go in depression and made him go into his darker shades of life. He became one of the best detectives in SFPD, he would mostly solve murders and would be happy during the day with others, but by the night time he would always have nightmares that haunted him for not being there for his father who needed him the most.

Y/N's POV

"Forgive me Dad, for not being there for you when you needed me the most, I miss you Dad." saying these words I headed for the bed, as I slept I had a dream it was for the first in five years that I had a normal dream, but it was not that normal I saw my father standing in front of me with a bald muscular black man at his side and another black who looked just like the first black guy but older and wiser, I didn't pay much attention to them and rushed to my father's feet and begged him to forgive me, he looked at me and said that he had forgiven me long back ago and was now at peace and with God in the some place called the Silver City I realized that the old man standing in front of me was none other than God himself, God than moved towards me and told me that I reminded him of favorite son I asked him who but he said nothing but smiled at me and told me that I need to go back to Los Angeles.

I woke with tears in my eyes, but this time they were the tears of joy and I decided to move back to Los Angeles, so when I got to the SFPD, I asked the lieutenant if I could get a transfer at the LAPD to which he agreed.
