Love and Protect
(Part 2)

Wednesday 6:30pm

Yuri took the cup into her hand and I watched as it inched closer and closer to her mouth...

I swiftly stood up from my table and walked towards theirs, purposely bumping into it.

"I'm so sorry." I stammered and bowed in front of them.

"Oh no it's alright!!" Yuri smiled dabbing the wet stain on her shirt with a napkin towel.

"Maybe the electric hand dryers in the bathroom will fix the stain." I advised her hoping she would take it.

She nodded and ran back into the ladies restrooms. Meanwhile, the blonde woman was on the verge of snapping her chopsticks. She looked up at me and I glared down back at her, her eyes widened at my expression as if she could hear my internal warning loud and clear. Yoru came back, her stained shirt was looking a lot better than before.

"I'd like to apologize again for what I did earlier." I bowed my head once again.

"it's alright...hey, aren't you the new guy at Kosame High, Yuta, right?" She questioned me tilting her head to the side. I didn't think she would notice me under my mask and my cap.

"Uhh, yeah how did you know?" I asked her a small wave of shame crashing over me.

"It's your...eyes" Yoru replied lowering her head in slight embarrassment.

Were my eyes too scary? Did I stare at her too much? Maybe she doesn't like the way they look. I was so lost in thought I hadn't noticed the awkward silence that was beginning to fall upon us.

"N-not that I don't like them! you're eyes are really pretty- not pretty- y-yes pretty but like cool-pretty..." Yuri stuttered trying to use the right words. Her voice faded as I admired the adorable nervous look on her face as she kept messing up her sentence.

"I'll make it up to you." I suddenly said not planning on how I would do that.

"How?" she replied.

"I'll buy you lunch at school!" I spoke.

She paused for a second and then reached her hand out to me. I looked at it for a second then I looked back at her. She froze awkwardly and lowered her hand back down.

"Sure that sounds great!" She grinned, there was a pink glowing aura around her and the air smelt like flowers my stomach was starting to feel strange and my face was getting hotter, I thought I had been wearing my mask for too long.

"Yuri, It's getting late now we should get going." The blonde lady quickly gathered her stuff and grabbed Yuri's arm, walking her towards the entrance. Seeing her hold Yoru like that made my blood boil, especially after the stunt she tried to pull. I grabbed on to Yuri's free arm.

"She can make her own decisions." I said to the lady causing us to end up in a death staring contest for what seemed like forever. Yoru could feel the growing tension between us two and attempted to clear things up.

"Oh right you haven't met my friend, this is Sadie, Sadie this is Yuta." We both slowly let go of her arms and bowed after being introduced to eachother.

"How about I walk you home Yuri?" I asked.

It was late so I knew it would be dangerous for Yuri to be walking home, especially with that two-faced Sadie girl. However, they did seem close so I couldn't just tell her out of nowhere that her own friend was trying to drug her, she would probably call me a liar.

"Sadie doesn't live too far from here and I wouldn't want to walk alone to my own place at this time so sure!" She replied trying to cover the fact that Sadie was not happy with the idea of me tagging along.

I was actually walking side by side with Yuri, I wish everyday could be like this, me, by her side.

"This is my stop." Sadie stated as she scurried off into her apartment block without turning back or saying another word, she must be either frustrated with me or scared of me. Yuri didn't seem to care she continued to walk as I followed next to her.

"It was nice of the school to give us a day off today, due to Anna's death." She stated sighing comfortably while enjoying the evening walk. It was quite interesting seeing how easy she brought up the topic.

"Apparently there is a funeral service taking place tomorrow in the school gymnasium." Yuri added.

"Is that common at school?" I asked watching her hair as it danced gracefully in the breeze.

"No not really." she replied, flinching at the realization that I had been staring at her for a little too long. Averting her gaze, a hint of pink flooded her cheeks.

"My place is here." She pointed to the building in front of us. She waved goodbye to me and made her way up the apartment building stairs that lead to the doors on the middle floor. Door No.53 was hers. She smiled at me before closing the door beind her.
