Haiku
Friday 9:55am
"Good Morning students, the class president would like to make an announcement, Miss Sato." She gestured her hand towards a tall and slim girl. Her hair was dark, purple and tied back, she had a small face and big warm eyes that carried long luscious lashes and her lips were rosy and pink. I noticed some of the boys in class drooling over her impressive features but I couldn't find myself to be interested in her. After all she looked like every other pretty girl on those teen magazine covers.
"I am Hana Sato and as your class representative I must inform you about our school's upcoming annual spring festival which is going to take place next week friday." Hana tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and took out another note which contained more information for the upcoming event.
"The literature club have suggested that the pupils in this class also contribute to the event by writing their very own spring themed haiku poems." Another student raised their hand and admitted that they weren't good at poetry. Hana smiled and resumed her speech.
"No worries, only the best haikus will be displayed at the festival, and the winner of the most liked haiku will be awarded with a voucher to a fancy restaurant in town and a week free from after school cleaning." suddenly, the students excitedly spoke amongst themselves, all sharing their ideas with one another.
"Submissions will be accepted from next week monday until wednesday. It is also mandatory to hand in a poem as these pieces will contribute to your overall grades. I wish you all good luck." She walked back to her seat and shortly, first period began.

The school's annual spring festival was more popular than I expected, the whole school was buzzing about it. I walked down the hallway when I heard a loud thud coming from the girls' bathroom. Out of curiosity, I placed my ear on the door to listen in, I looked around to make sure nobody was there, or I could have faced serious consequences if someone had caught me peeking into ladies room like a creep. I slowly opened the door peering through the small open slit that I could make without being noticed. My eyes widened, what I had witnessed made my heart drop.
"we'll teach you a lesson brat." Miyu Tanaka sneered as one of her minions handed a bucket of water to her.
Yoru was on the floor her hands were tied together behind her back and her mouth was covered with a dirty looking cloth she looked like she had just woken up. I caught a glimpse of a small dark purple bruise on her head which I assumed was the area she got hit. Suddenly a wave of anger crashed over me as Miyu dunked the bucket of water over Yoru's head, the sheer humiliation directly aimed at her felt like my world had crumbled right in front of me and I was not having it.
I heard footsteps coming my way and dashed behind a wall out of sight. Miyu and the others must have heard it too as I had spotted them running out of the bathroom. Suddenly the person stopped in there tracks I peeked over the wall to see Hana Sato standing there staring at the large puddle of water that seeped from underneath the cracks of the bathroom door. In concern, Hana opened the door.
"Yoru what happened to you?!" Hana gasped. The conversation in the bathroom became more muffled but the only thing running through my mind was anger and revenge.

Yoru's POV
My body felt cold, my clothes were soaking wet and I could feel a throbbing pain in my head as I slowly tried to open my eyes.
