Only Hers

Chapter Four

Kazimir

I was just here without her. I was just a body with organs to keep me living, but I felt a part of me missing. There wasn't something right. It doesn't matter if I had hate towards her, I still missed her.

I can't sleep properly at night without her. Some of her stuff are still here and I haven't made any attempts to move it, except her body wash. It was the closest thing I had to her scent to remind myself of her.

I was considering I should let my mother move all my stuff to a different house in Russia before I come back. I wasn't sure what I would do with all her old stuff. I just know I wouldn't want to go back into that house.

Alexei was sat at the island counter and was ruffling his hair. I could see case files on the table.

"How's Megan?"

He turns to look at me and shrugs. I walked up to the counter and I picked up a file. He hasn't spoken to her?

"Since Imani died we haven't spoken, all she said was she couldn't do it."

I lifted eyes from the files and I gazed at him monetarily. She was scared to die, like Imani. Before we weren't directly in harms way, we were just living and her friend had died. Of course she wouldn't want to be involved anymore.

"All the files on Jorge's guys are here. I even got a bit about Juan connects there. I made a pile for the easiest ones who will turn and who won't," he explains.

I sit down next to him and I pick the stack with the ones who are more loyal to Jorge. You can never really trust a man or woman in this world. They could easily switch on you and they would be your downfall.

I trust Alexei with many things and if he was to ever betray me, it would be difficult. He is like my brother to me. I flicked through the files and they have a long criminal record. I have served maximum 4 years in my whole life time.

The times in prison were the most eventful and boring at times. I couldn't wait till the ate of freedom which came very early for me. Bribing politicians to ignore my criminal past might have been my favorite bit.

"Look at this one, he looks likes like a bitch boy."

I take the file from Alexei and look at it. It was a skinny man with many tattoos on his face. HIs crimes were petty theft, armed robbery, aggravated assault and minor charges.

"He would be to easy, but he could be useful," I said.

We continued looking through the case files and I created a stack of people I liked. Looking at some of the crimes that some of these men had made me laugh. They were such small simple jobs.

"Mhm what about this one?"

Alexei showed me a file and this was giving impressive now. El oso AKA The bear. I can understand his name. The man was big in his picture and he weighed almost 300 pounds, he had a angry look in his face.

His crimes were more on top of the food chain. Intent to distribute drugs, arms possession and murder charges. I nodded my head and I continued to keep reading his case. He has a 14 year old son, but from the looks of it he has never met him.

I put his file in his stack, but his stayed in my mind. He got out of jail three months ago and he was supposed to have a long sentence.

I will Chloe later and have her further build up my cases on these lot. I rather not do all the work myself unless necessary. I was done with looking at some of these cases and I just wanted to get something to eat.
