My Missing Puzzle Piece (Niall Horan Fan Fic)

"Kelly, can you come here?" My mom called as I entered the front door. I walked slowly to the kitchen and sat in front of my mom at the dining table.

"Yeah?" I asked grabbing an apple from the bowl of fruit.

"I have a twin sister." She said like it was no big deal. I nearly choked on my apple.

"What the hell do you mean?!" I asked, my eyes growing wide.

"Language! And exactly what I said. I have a twin sister named Karen." She said calmly, judging my reaction. A twin sister? That I never knew about? Like, WTF?!

"And you decide to tell me this now because...?" I lean back, thoroughly pissed. My mom sighed and rubbed her hands over her face.

"She has cancer and she wants us to come and live with her and her family for awhile." Woah! Hold up! She expects me to leave my family, friends, and god knows who else behind for some relative I've never met? FUCK TO THE NO.

"No." I stated calmly, staring her dead in the eye.

"Kelly." She began but I cut her off.

"I don't know those people and quite frankly I don't want to. If they only want us when they want something from us then, no." I started to yell.

'Kelly, I pushed her away, not the other way around." My mom said looking defeated. I crossed my arms over my chest and my mom sighed, again.

"Why? Why should I leave all of this behind for them?" I pushed further. If she pushed them away, why go back now?

"Look, it's not permanent. Just for a little while. Kelly, please just do this one thing for me." She begged. I sighed and muttered a little "fine".

"Go pack your clothes, we leave tomorrow!" She smiled. Tommorrow?! You have got to be kidding me.

........

"Kelly!" A voice boomed. I sat up and looked around for the danger.

"Shit mom!" I whined and stretched, making baby dinosaur noises.

"Language!" She whisper-yelled. I just rolled my eyes and looked out the plane window. England. Greeaaat.

"We're landing, buckle up." She said bouncing up and down in her seat. I smile in spite of myself at her eagerness. This was going to be interesting.

We walked off of the plane and entered the airport.

"Mom!" I yelled as she went into a daze. She jumped and I noticed she had little tears in her eyes.

"I'm fine, just reliving some memories." She shrugged. We walked over to get out bags and I waited for my zebra-striped ones to roll out.

"ANNABETH?" came a deep, british accent. I turned around to see a man strolling towards us. Moms eyes widened as she ran over to the man for a hug. Must be one of our alien relatives.

"Geoff! I haven't seen you in forever!" She said giving him a big hug. I was really surprised. Ever since my dad committed suicide she was never really comfortable around guys. The man chuckled and let her go.

"This is my daughter, Kellia." She introduced me. I blushed at my stupid name.

"She looks a lot like Liam!" He gasped. My mom bit her lip and nodded. Our bags FINALLY came rolling in and we grabbed them, the strange man helping us.

"Well, Kellia, I'm Geoff. Nice to meet you." He said with a smile. He didn't seem too bad.

"It's Kelly please." I said, returning the smile. We all walked out of the airport to a black van with tinted windows.

"What's with the rape mobile?" I asked pointing to the van.

"Kelly!" My mother gasped. The man chuckled and eventually laughed so hard he was doubled over.

"Nah, it was funny. Harry asked me the same thing when he first saw it." He laughed some more. My mom shot me the "look" and I shrugged. Geoff tossed our suitcases in the back of the van and we climbed in.

"Geoff. You said I looked like Liam. Who's that?" I asked the him as he started the car.

"You'll just have to see!"
