Y/N sat at the table in the main room with her family after they all ate dinner; she crossed her arms, leaning back in her chair.
"I was looking at it; I was looking for anything to orient us. Anything familiar, a plant or a constellation. But there was nothing, nothing- there was nothing I recognized at all," Maureen raised a brow.
"I recognized a lion that looked like it was from Jurassic Park," Y/N added, getting a glare from her mom; she then spoke Spanish and sighed, "solo digo, mamá (just saying, mom)."
"Okay, I don't understand," Judy sighed, "exactly how lost are we talking about?"
"Yeah," Penny nodded, "like can't find your car in the parking lot lost?"
"Well, if this is Earth," Maureen put a home on the table and then walked across the room to one of the countertop, "and this is Alpha Centauri. We are, metaphorically, maybe, a 600-year drive away." Maureen walked back to the table, "maybe."
"Okay, so, not metaphorically," Penny added.
"Trillions of light-years, it's uh..." Maureen looked at her family, "look; if we got here, we can get back."
Will looked up at his Mom, "so, how do we get back?"
"Honestly, unless the Resolute is intact and can find us, we might be stuck here." Maureen looked at each member of her family, "which is why I need everyone working on the problem."
"Maureen," John sighed.
"Okay. We need to get comms operational. And we can't do that until we get the ship out of the ice. And Judy, you need to get-"
"Maureen," John interrupted.
"What?"
"I think we should take a breather."
"What?"
"With the storm outside, there's nothing we can do anyway, and I think we'd all think a lot clearer after some rest..."
"I am kind of tired," Will nodded, breaking the silence.
"Yeah, I think we all are," Penny nodded.
"Just an hour, Mom, then I'll be ready," Judy nodded.
