A S P I R I N

A sharp pain pierced my right temple as the faint hum of the train over the train tracks echoed softly throughout my cabin.

I flickered my eyes open and groaned. Why did the sun have to beam right into my cabin?

I rubbed my head in pain as I yawned, squinting my eyes to try not to increase the pain I already felt due to this migraine.

I noticed that I was alone in my cabin on the way to Hogwarts. Onyx must have left me here, and I probably just dozed off, seeing as I only got two hours of sleep the night prior.

Note to self: Don't wait until the night before to pack for your wizarding boarding school. God, you're such a procrastinator.

As I stood and stretched, that once sharp pain in my head had now developed into multiple areas of severe throbbing. I could kill for some caffeine and sedatives right about now.

I made my way towards my cabin door and slid it open quickly, hoping to catch the nice old lady that operates the trolley so that I could buy something with caffeine in it.

As soon as I stepped out, I was immediately shoved by some first years.

First years.

My mouth began to open as I was about to curse them out, that is, until I felt a hand grab my shoulder.

"Woah, woah, mate. Relax."

I looked back immediately, annoyed at whoever stopped whatever scene and embarrassment I was about to cause those bloody 11 year olds. Though, my anger subsided as I made eye contact with Theo.

Theodore Nott.

Instantly, I wrapped my arms around his figure and pulled him into a huge, inviting hug.

"Nice to see you too, Knight." He spoke, clearly caught by surprise at my gesture, but still reciprocating the act.

I pulled away for a moment to take a look at his face. I hadn't seen Theo in months, since the last day of 6th year to be exact. It was hard to all get together and hang out during our summer months off. Everyone had their own plans, and most of the time, it just never worked out. We all lived a bit far from each other too, so it was just never the right time.

"Merlin's beard, you're still tall as hell," I laughed.

"At least I'm not 4'11 like Zabini," he jeered in return.

We both laughed at this inside joke, which has been annoying Blaise ever since 4th year. In all honesty, Blaise wasn't even short anymore; he was around 6ft. Then again, all the Slytherin boys in my friend group were around 6ft. But, once upon a time, Blaise hadn't hit his growth spurt, and Draco, Theo, and Enzo made sure to always remind him of it.

Oh, Blaise. I missed my best friend. I hadn't seen him in so long either, or the rest of my friend group for that matter, and I missed them all dearly.

"Onyx asked me to check up on you, said you've been knocked out since we first left King's Cross," Theo spoke.

I scrunched my eyebrows. How long was I out for?

"Where is everyone?" I questioned.

"Just in the back where we all usually sit. Here, I'll take you to them."

I nodded as a slight smile grew on my face. Don't get me wrong, these train rides to Hogwarts were always a bore to me, but something felt different this year. I was excited for once, like new and big things were going to happen. I guess that's what happens when you're finally in your last year at Hogwarts.
